l cant see a 33 year old getting Geelong into another grand final...........

No, but you have to factor Geelong's level of delusion.

Anything less than draft, draft, draft for them is a case of blatant list vandalism, but I wouldn't preclude the current North administration giving him away for effectively nothing either. If that happens, then the North fans should riot.

Yes true be useful support for cunners.... and to feed jy and LDU.... prob is he would require a trade if not done with higgo...

I saw Constable play his first game against Collingwood in round 1 last year. He started in the centre square marking Pendlebury and finished the game with 21 disposal, 3 tackles and a goal (Pendlebury had 24 disposals). I was very impressed and am surprised he is not a regular with Geelong but think he would be well worth taking as part of a Higgins trade

Would rather a pick from Geelong vs a player for Higgins. With hollands or whoever coming in this draft period I don't want the likes of constable to take up crucial spots on field that may be on offer to the next superstar of the team. Even if the club cant facilitate a trade into the teens with our 25 and we get a 2nd/3rd rounder it means that we can pickup a player for position of need. No way Geelong would give up anyone of value anyway with their heavily aging list.

He was good in his first years but has fallen off pretty hard since then. Maybe its being stuck in the 2's for a long time or something else but I think he'd be way too slow for what we're looking for in the mids.

Went to Haileybury with LDU and Bonar. Would be good to get the band back together again.

Unlikely, I'd say more likely be 20 or 29.

Okay, pick 16 will probably end up as 20 anyway, but pick 33 going out to 37-40, is just behaving like Geelong's cuck.

I reckon if they get rolled this week there will be significant pressure on them to do what they should have started 4-5 years ago, and hit the draft hard. If that happens then it requires our club to bend over or, it's over to you StKilda.

Higgo could still feasibly go & finish in Geelong's top 3 B&F next year. Particularly if they use him properly.

That's if they don't just walk him to the PSD.

He would be snapped up for before he got to them.

I'm talking about Hately, not Higgins

I realise that with the bidding, picks will be pushed back, but won't Sydney and Western Bulldogs and possibly Gold Coast (and others) be completely wiped out of the draft in mid-later picks evening it out a bit?

That's kind of my view as well. If there is decent depth there may be opportunities for clubs like ours that need and will use a lot of picks in the top 30-40 positions. We may not get more top 10 picks but if these teams kill their picks with points it helps us who are picking heavily in the draft.

He isnt fast, but he isnt way too slow. Clean hands who looks to give to guys on the outside - guys with pace. Perfect complement to pack horse for LDU and Jy

Our pace will 'improve' with improved decision makers and better ball retention. We should absolutely ask the question of Constable in any Higgins discussion.

How many good sides carry multiple slow midfielders these days? Having Cunnington in there limits the ability to have another slower inside type in there I think.

Cunnington & Dumont is already more then enough. Can't see how Constable is a step in the right direction to building a hard, fast, skillful, dynamic midfield group.

Truly amazing what a club man if you ask me. Still only wants whats best for the NMFC. You are a legend in what ever way you look at well done Shaun.
Yeah Shawn mentioned the same thing last year before he was recontracted. If the club wanted to trade him for picks to improve the side then he was willing to do it.
