I think many would prefer Saad over JJ if they had a choice
That may be true but the issue was value - winning a Norm Smith Medal and being a Premiership player elevates JJ above Saad in the trade stakes I'd suggest. Whether that's fair is another matter. Both have achieved a third placing in their club's B&F's - that means something at the Bulldogs but Essendon are woeful.....

JJ would command a higher trade value. No question.

Lol at Pickering putting pressure on us to accept a deal.
It will get worse next week. Hope Power stays strong. They need to be taken to a place they don’t want to be. A place they risk losing out on Caldwell, a place where they trade their future for Dunkley.

Essendon are restricted with their ability to trade first round picks, GWS are chasing a first round pick for Jye Caldwell how the heck are they getting enough currency to trade for Dunkley?
For mine Essendon have no players we need or want. Draper maybe - but has had an ACL and is already in decent coin. I’m not sure on Merrett - is he potentially too vanilla?

If they get both Caldwell and Dunkley, I have the feeling in 5 years time Caldwell will be the better player.
From what I know, has better speed, same grunt and better skills.

Hmmmmm I’m not sure I agree with this one

Up for trade now I’d suggest Saad gets slightly more but not by much

How? What’s he said?

No deal done with Bumbers, what he won’t come back? Sit out 2 years?
Dunkleys need the $
Something along the line of there being a deal for everyone and its up to the dogs now.

Hes our player. Essendon will need to bend over backwards x4 to cross him over.

EVery team needs to say “this is what we want/offer and it’s non negotiable, don’t contact us until you ready to deal” and then ignore him.

Go to media and flat out say the exact same thing and put all the pressure on that smug twat.
Been saying this all along. Give the options that suit us not them,
Give them a date, say end of Monday. Say quite stern DO NOT CONTACT UNLESS YOU HAVE SELECTED ONE, NO ****ING MORE NEGOTIATING ON THOSE OPTIONS

Could be...we'll probably never know.

In other words everyone gets what they want as long as we tow the line and maybe compromise

I would be clear IF the offer is one where Sam doesn’t need to think about it and says where do we sign you walk away.

The deal should be in our favour by the length of the Flemington straight and it should be so good no one on BF forum should complain.

I prefer Bumbers do all the work in the Dunkley deal. They need to offer they need to do all the work as to what we may or may not accept.

If offer is not what we want we say NO after several NO’s they will get the idea.

Give them an indication what we want enables them to bargain on it and I prefer they work blindfolded and in the dark.

Dodo would have some idea of what will be required as he has set the market with Saad and Fantasia.

GWS demanding a first round pick from Essendon for Caldwell, Essendon strong favourites to win trade week yet again if they can somehow pull off all their deals with no assets.

Surely Carlton aren’t stupid enough to give 8 as part of the Saad deal, but I can see it happening as they are a rabble of a club.

Everything is screaming to me that Dodo wants Dunkley, Caldwell and Wright and still have a top 10 pick
Think you are right. Ole mate Adrian has got a few balls in the air.
They are also losing McKenna, Saad, Daniher, Fantasia.
He can land Dunkley, Caldwell, 2MP but he is going to have to concede a fair bit.
Dunkley - 2 x 1sts or Tippa/Merrett and a 1st.
Caldwell - 1st.
2MP - 3rd.

He can land all 3 and retain a 1st, but then has to lose another quality player.

Should be a fun few days next week.

Saad is tougher than people give him credit for.

Both speedy line breakers with good ball use.

If I had the choice I would go Saad just, purely because of the tougher edge.

Who will blink first? I have a feeling essendon will low ball us and we won’t accept anything too low. It’ll come to the final day.

I get the feeling the football world is learning a lot about Sam Power, and the modern day Bulldogs, this trade period.

I also think Sam, and the club, is taking little notice of the media "pressure" being applied.

Underwritten by one P. Gordon, of course.
