No as there are things i remember that are much older than that lol
I remember some things before that, but what I remember most about those Winter Olympics (other than the gold medals) is that it's when I was preparing to move to Canberra for my first year of uni

I used to live up there. Actually missed out on 3 premierships.
Personally I think its way better here.
Not counting current times Melbourne has been my favourite place I've lived

Yahhhh... BUT
We got to live in a fancy fancy house in the Sutherland Shire.... and my boss paid my rent and utilities..
We were able to save enough money to buy things when they were on special, not when we desperately need them.
Nice

I didnt mind Sydney, its beautiful, the weather is great. House prices are beyond the pale though.
Melbournes great because all of my friends are here. Ive been here maybe 15 years now.

The problem with missing the premiership was, my wife was the half back for 8 years at that club and lost three grand finals. She cried like Deledio Im tellin ya
I wasn't actually in Sydney sorry. Lived in a few towns in country NSW.
But did stay in Caringbah sometimes and Sydney was really nice.
Shit your wife was actually a player lol.
I was just complaining about the Geelong ones.

Caringbah is pretty close to where we were.
Yeah she is :) Quite a player. League BnF a few years back, numerous club BnF's, played state a few times.
Kicked off as a little kid at Inverleigh. So theres plenty of photos of her in revolting Hawks colours.

The dream for me is living in Tassie. Just cant get over how magical that place is.

Yeah kinda. All the nice bits are nice. But once you delve a bit deeper it gets really shit.
Like the worst bits of Melbourne are nowhere near as bad as the worst bits of Syd IMO

I thought I'd hate it but got used to it. Would prefer to live country if I could, but work and all that sh*t
Yeah that can be the hard bit about country life you can get work but mite only be 20 hrs aweek or like i had full time jobs and because od drought you lose your job so yes it can be tough

What bits are you talking about? I thought public transport was faultless, way less trash on the streets etc

Seven Hills? I think that's what it was called, and around Penrith. Only places I've really been that way.
They seemed rough as. And faarken expensive to rent as well.

It's country Vic i feel sorry for some towns have not had 1 case yet they have to stop work,

Totally sucks for regional areas, especially those more regional than myself in the Geelong area

But I kinda agree with a point that Andrews has made on the issue and that prior to the 'ring of steel', there was the odd Melbourne folk under tighter restrictions who traveled to regional areas ignoring the stay at home & don't travel orders

By far the worse example of that is the couple who left lockdown and travelled to Gippsland while awaiting a coronavirus test result, and she then tested positive

Then the Aspen couple in March who was meant to be doing 2 weeks home iso after returning to Melbourne who decided it was ok to go down the Mornington Peninsula and do whatever they wanted

During the first lockdown, I know that Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and the Surf Coast had issues with folk coming down from Melbourne for day trips over the Easter period when we'd been ask to limit travel where possible

And then after the ring of steel I read stories from people actually doing the following where they claimed to have a boss who had a holiday house in the Bellarine region, and as they were in construction they would fake work pases so they could travel from Melbourne with their mates and party over the weekend before returning to Melbourne

If people did the right thing last year then I don't think that regional Vic is under lockdown at the moment. It's a shit situation cause it feels like regional Vic is being punished due to poor choices & actions by a small group of "entitled" Melbourne folk last year

Yeah! Beveridge is kind of part of Melbourne now. And Wallan. Kilmore will be soon too.
Yeah the Ned Kelly house! He's actually only a few hundred metres up the hill from that real old pub.

Ohhhh yep. Penrith etc is another world. We went up there a few times for footy. Supporters hanging over the fence, commenting loudly on the womens body shapes and appearances. Really aggressive folk. Couldnt leave the area fast enough.
