List Mgmt. Mid Season Draft 2021 Player Watch

Looks like Cody Raak is off the list for us, draft rules state that players listed in NGA or Northern academies are ineligible for the MSD and Raak is still listed on their academy this season.
See below

I thought the NGA/academy thing was addressed in an article early this month:

CLUBS have been told they will regain the rights to Academy-tied over-age prospects in this season's NAB AFL Draft, should they not be recruited to a rival team during the upcoming Mid-Season Rookie Draft.

It leaves a host of draft hopefuls with an added layer of certainty ahead of both the mid-season and national drafts, with clubs set to regain their ability to win first access to overage Academy-tied players should they not land a spot on a rival club's rookie list throughout the year.

Previously in 2019 when the Mid-Season Rookie Draft was reintroduced, overage prospects still involved in either Northern Academy or NGA programs could not nominate for the mid-season draft unless they cut all Academy ties.

That means the likes of Driscoll and Raak, among others, can this year elect to nominate for the Mid-Season Rookie Draft, where they could be recruited to any AFL club across the country, and still remain Academy-tied for November's NAB AFL Draft.

So even if Raak is still in the Western Bulldogs NGA academy, he can still nominate and be taken in the MSD.

Draft Central Notes from the Geelong VFL game:

#30 Ned Moyle (Oakleigh Chargers/VM)

One of two 19-year-old prospects afield, Moyle carried his promising NAB League form into this outing and competed well against stiff opposition. The Oakleigh Chargers big man rotated into the ruck and was not afraid to leap into or wrestle with his senior adversaries. He also did well to stay relevant as the ball fell to ground level, prizing a few clearances forward – even if they were rushed scrubber kicks. Moyle also had the confidence to grab from the ruck and took a nice mark from a kick-in during term two. Like Conway, he rested forward and was stationed there more frequently during the second half, but just lacked the mobility and composure to make a true impact in those attacking positions.

Been in the system 4 years and hasn't played more than 10 games let alone is holding down a senior spot that's their for him.
Seems pretty realistic to me.

No reason why we cant do both.
He’s a ruckman stuck behind Todd Goldstein, who is now starting to slow down. You really want Campbell as the primary ruck when Goldy is gone and Edwards is as raw as anything?

Edwards could easily enough play 2nd KPF and ruck relief. Same as Xerri if he was was good enough right now.
Campbell would be a VFL cover at best if Xerri was pushing hard for the position but I think he's too comfortable where he is and its led to his plateau in development.
Most talls can pinch hit in ruck easily enough.

Agree.

No good reason Xerri shouldn't be in the team for Campbell.

The problem for Xerri is that he is also pretty injury prone. Has not been able to string a run of games together at any level. And he's been in the system for a while, so it's time for him to deliver. It is really not that hard to push for a spot on our current side and displace Campbell if good enough.

Very quick to right off Tristan.

Well to be fair we need more even if he is a smashing success as we will have a ruck role and another KPF role to fill and only one Xerri.

can't see why - contrary the fourth estate - we'd take the 'monster' ruckman with limited mobility over Edwards. Tommy Campbell, who I love at VFL level, already does enough limited mobility for one list
