Black Company is good, there is some pretty good grim/dark floating around that was influenced by this.

Blck Company's on my list. A few things I've read have cited Cook and that series as a big influence, so keen to check it out.

I’ve been going through the goodreads app and put a bit of a list together. I’ll head to a bookstore on the weekend and see what’s there. Bookstores are rare these days though...pretty sure there’s still one at knifepoint

I just read the blurb. I’m heading into hospital on Monday and start reading then. Haven’t got anything yet. Haven’t read a book for years. Last book I read was ‘The spy and the traitor’ but it was on my phone. Much prefer actual books, it’s just not the same on screen.
