We are having a fresh clean out, and may not have any spots in a year. He would play under Clarko next year and learn from that, then he would come into the box and learn from him after that. He doesn't have to do both at the same time. Of course Clarko will bring in his own assistants, but if Pendles wanted to learn, and Clarko gave him a call .....

Personally, I'd be happy with him retiring and coming to us as an assistant right away. It's just if he wants to go on for a year, we'd have to improvise.
Also a few of the boys like to shoot hoops and I have heard through some back channels that Pendlebury has played some ball.

While I understand that point of view there are just to many variables.

Does he want to leave Melbourne? Is he willing to accept a deal to play and then coach for a team like GC that are a basket case currently on and off the field. When you also factor in the aspect he may get to do an apprenticeship under a Clarko or Lyon with the Clarko the massive incentive here IF we land him.

Fair calls.

I just think we sometimes only look at this through Carlton goggles. If he came great, but I would be shocked if he isn’t playing at Collingwood next year.

He’s the sort Geelong have been going for, they don’t worry about age, and they always have 300 future 3rd picks, and they hand them out like bus tickets.

Yes and somehow all of them grew up in Geelong. Even those that lived in Echuca.

We have not started Coach interviews yet at all. Teague will hear tomorrow and we will start process after that

If Ross and Clarkson are the two candidates I'd doubt there will be much of a process.

A sit down with the main people at the club and see if you want to work together.

If it doesn't look like it is going to be a good fit then I'd imagine a process will begin.

Tomorrow should be interesting.

To maintain consistency in this forum I dislike his tendency to king hit Blues players

Is a one off a tendency? If they play with the lack of intensity they did this year, he has an opportunity to improve on this.

I’m saying we don’t need to ‘rebuild’ which is what your post stated.

Of course we need to keep adding to our squad, which includes bringing in some more capable midfielders. That isn’t our main weakness though - our gameplan and structure is appalling and has directly led to our inability to win games of footy. This is on Teague and the coaching team.

My post never stated that at all. If i wanted to say rebuild i would of. Not a main weakness? How many games are won through the midfield? The midfield would be the most important thing to get right in a team. If you can not win or get the ball then you have no hope. Teague is far from perfect and am not sticking up for him at all but what i see from our list every week is far more concerning to me. They lack heart, they lack effort and they lack any willingness at all to run hard and defend. And of course you will say that is on the coach. Well sorry but for me if you have to tell players every week, every day , every minute that they have to go out there and try then we have the wrong type of players with the wrong attitude.
