Left 2 clubs in poor circumstances and was never able to adapt to a more offensive game. Since he left coaching the AFL's rules has made the game even more offensive.

This more “offensive” football isn’t exactly reflected in scoring.

So Lyon and Buckley have been put forward as likely to be our coach.

That is so depressing.

Lyons last 4 years at Freo resulted in ladder finishes of 16th, 14th, 14th and 13th before getting sacked. Cmon people seriously.

Buckleys coaching tenure outside 2 good years in 2018 and 2019 was poor and he got sacked...has not done an apprenticeship to improve elsewhere.

He came in and got them into finals the first 4 years, but at the end of that, he had McPharlin retired, Pavlich 34, Sandilands 33, Johnson 31, Pearce 30, Mundy 30 and replacements like Pearce were still too far away in their development. It's the chance you take. You get a good list, you try to get it there and he nearly did, but you are not at the top end of the draft and you have to go down, hit the draft and wait. Now we see some really good players coming on for Freo, but that down period cost Ross his job.

He was list manager, not recruiting manager. I don't think it's unreasonable that SOS may not have watched as much junior footy as those working underneath him.

Liddle has done wonders for this club.

The board is a circus, Sayers and Kinnersly the only 2 challenging the club and trying to be progressive.

There’s too many people emotionally attached to Carlton and can’t make objective decisions hence we’ve never gone anywhere the last 20 years (straight from Russell)

Liddle, Russell and co were genuinely shocked entering the club at how bad we were run, and that no one thought anything was wrong.

They’ve created enemies, no fault of their own, they’re not there to make friends, they have a job and a goal and won’t be influenced by outsiders.

Ross Lyon as reported 2 months back is still in the box seat.

Clarkson was never coming, he’s off to the Gold Coast because Gil said so.
