I think this is the thread to chortle about Ed trying to get into WA for the GF, taking his sons as production assistants?
As raised by a workmate today, Basil is still here. Forgive me if I don’t crack the veuve clicquot

Brad Scott contacted by Carlton is so hilarious.
I reckon it will depend on how his portfolio is faring and given these economic times, it might be a wise investment to sign on for 3 and then take a payout after 2 'coz you didn't win a flag (or a final).

Buckenara, after one ridiculous article, has already changed his player rating scale.
For his review of Adelaide D+ has disappeared and is now called Developing.
Emphasising his lack of research for his articles is the ranking of Paul Seedsman as a C Grader - the guy was in the All Australian squad and only missed out because the flogs refuse to pick true wingers.
When will the Herald Sun give up on this has-been failed coach?

He must feel so conflicted, being such a dyed in the wool Shinboner. Could he bring himself to coach against the club he explained at so much length that he loves?

I'll ask him when I see him at the next North Melbourne members function.

Why would he bother when he has a job for life in middle management at the AFL.

He loves the AFL, he's even wearing an AFL polo as we speak. But the time has come for a 'mutual parting' and chance for the AFL to get some "fresh air".

He’d step away if it was best for the AFL (and I’m sure wouldn’t want a payout)

Brad Scott is a specialist at making the most of mediocrity.

At best they can expect a few finals wins and get spanked against quality opposition.

Could also expect the odd coaching blue where they can't handle opposition moment- oh wait... they had that problem before!

Why do so many North suppporters hate Brad? It’s nuts.

Take your pick.

- Negligent list management (despite that not being his role, Joyce was his puppet) which is the mess that Brady & co are still cleaning up.
- Never embraced our rich culture, evident in his “relationship” with our past players & dismissal of all things shinboner.
- His handling of the 2016 delistings & his strategy for the following 2+ years.
- Inability to shift momentum in game, due to poor game plan & tactics.
- No accountability at match committee for players that were not perform

His first few years were fine & many believe he got the best out of the group he had. Ultimately he stayed too long IMO. Doesn’t help that much like his brother he is extremely, only difference being his brother inherited a very talented list.

To be honest I was taking the piss.

But there is a degree of truth to it. Brad suits Carlton's current list because it's a team that:
  1. Struggles with turnovers.
  2. Can't handle pressure.
  3. Can't turn opposition momentum.
  4. Can't run both ways.
Sound familiar?

And lastly, has the wrong mix for a premiership let alone finals contention.

They need someone for stability and Brad is perfect for that until they get 'serious'.

But easy fixes.

So everything we hold dear to our hearts.

His I’ll step aside if it’s best for the club stance.

And subsequent full payout.

Absolute fraud.
I'm not a Brad apologist, but

The Board: Brad, we believe you're the best man to coach North for the next 3 years.
The Board 1.5 years later; Brad, we believe it's best for the club if you leave now.

You can't hang him for that. There was a contract in place but the club wanted him gone. I blame the board for extending him for those 3 years, more so that blaming him for wanting what he was entitled to as part of the agreement.

Don’t hold yourself as the bastion of benevolence when you know full well you’re going to hold the club to contract terms.

The club was certainly at fault, but Scott did himself no favours with that s**t.

Did we not ‘part ways’ after he suggested the (now in full swing) rebuild the club needed?
