Yeah Raines held his spot in my squad because I used my two trades as well.

Raines is skating on the thin stuff with me too. I still have Hodge who I am going to keep for now although he is going to be under some pressure - worst midfielder in my side at the moment - even the rookies are perfoming better.

I am trying to hold off on unnecessary trades though this early in the season - long term injuries only.

The player values change next week. How quickly do they change? Are they a gradual adjustment over a few weeks or do values change dramatically taking account of form over the first 3 weeks?

I am playing a forward short this week after after injuries has two of them out and my 85K development player Brown who has played pretty well for WC got dropped. I used my trades trying to clear some money up for an acquisition next week with one trade for a player likely to drop for one going up (Brennan for K Cornes) and getting a player I think is going to go up for one who played about as well as he could scored 5 goals and still only got 80 odd points (Sandilands for Mooney). I am hoping I haven't shot myself in the foot by waiting for the two forwards I want to get next week (including one I traded away before the season started who I am kicking myself about now).

I wondered about this too. Not sure Quigley - maybe someone else can clarify. I have a few rookies that have performed well in early rounds but that I don't think will perform over the course of the season - I want to punt those guys out when they are at max value, which could be round 4 if there's a dramatic increase or a later round if the increase is incremental.

Btw, what is the deal with hitouts? Do they count? I remember reading the scoring system where it said hit outs to advantage were worth 3 points. But there doesn't seem to be a column for HOs.

Nice observation Warwick, only seven coaches had not made any trades last week (after Rnd 1). Obviously I have no idea who made any changes during this week. Other than those who have already put their hand up.

I like getting my team balanced after about 5 rounds, then trade only when I need to i.e. injury. Don't want to leave any trades in the bank.

There are finals. Rounds 1-3 is the preseason. Rounds 4-18 you play everyone once (15 other teams), and rounds 19-22 are the finals.

I have seriously screwed my team I think. I had a chance to get rid of a couple of high-priced players before their value decreased substantially (i.e. Rob Murphy and Andrew Walker), but now i am stuck with them. Very ordinary round for me so far - it seems a low scoring round across the board though.
