I'm really big on this: clubs that sign FAs should lose their draft pick in the round that it's judged the compo is in and then the team that loses the FA should receive their compensation pick in a supplementary round at the end of the adjudged round.

This way it doesn't just invent draft picks out of nowhere. The current system unfairly penalises teams that have nothing to do with the deal.

I'd say 4 x 400.

J.Kelly has a 3 year deal and it got the Crows a 3rd round pick (42).
Hewett is said to sign with the Blues on a 4 year deal x 400/450k.
Tarrant is a 2 year deal.

Unless I'm missing somethign that's a good starting point, because then you add Taz to the equation.

As I said a few days ago I still think it will be Taz + 38 for CCJ and 44. Those 3rd rounders will obviously slide a bit due to comp etc, but you get the picture.

With Chol netting them 38 though we arguably have more leverage than before though so I reckon we might be able to improve that.

Do you know how they got all those picks?

Their first pick last year was pick 40 & have lost Higgins, Chol & now CCJ to get those picks.

It's a great hand, but was at the expense of 2 former top 20 picks & not touching the draft last year.
