Ugh that’s shockingIf English is to go then we will probably need Ladhams. Would we settle for Ladhams, 2022 picks, and points for Darcy?
Something like: English, pick 45, pick 52, 2022 3rd rounder for Pick 19, Pick 22, 2022 2nd rounder
Then Pick 19 for Ladhams and 2022 3rd rounder.
That would give us:
* Points for a Darcy bid at 2 using only 3 list spots.
* A plug in replacement for English
* A really strong 2022 draft hand with an extra 2nd round pick.
Oh that’s much worseMcEvoy and Sicily for Bailey Smith.
Gives us a 2-3 year flag window with Big Boy covering the ruck. And yes, clearly Bailey Smith is a up and coming superstar. That’s why the deal would work.

Not that I think English is leaving but why is that career suicide? He gets a massive secure 5 year contract to move home and be closer to his partner in the short term.Signing for Freo for 5 years is career suicide. Literally spending the peak of your career in the wilderness.
Id want a better ruck option and a player not coming back from an ACL if I was giving up a generational player like Smith.McEvoy and Sicily for Bailey Smith.

You think English is worth more?Ugh that’s shocking
Melbourne about 12-15 years ago?Has the scorched earth, year zero coaching and trade strategy that Hawthorn seem to be employing ever actually worked in an AFL context?
Carlton are the club that immediately come to mind who tried it and they are still struggling to get out from under this tragic part of their history.
McEvoy and Sicily for Bailey Smith.

Hypothetical.
Tim English for NicNat?
I am a HUGE fan of English and it'd be a disaster to lose him BUT with WA' strict border rules and English coming out of contract next year it might be worth spitballing now.
If we could wrangle a high pick and Meek, depending on what Power could do with the pick, I'd consider it.
If that is the best example then Im not sure that its great template for Hawthorn to follow.Melbourne about 12-15 years ago?
Losing Joel McDonald set them back 5+ years at least
I'm disappointed at the overall lack of melting given the possible English departure. However given the way the AFL landscape has been trending in recent years, I guess we've all become more pragmatic, and possibly immune, to the idea of losing, if not a top liner, at least one seen as a key player movind forward. Coupled with the travails all have endured to varying degrees over past 18 months, I for one, am relatively reconciled with what happened on 25th September, and barring any other surprise rumours, if English leaves, well life goes on, doesn't it? Hopefully we just get to see some damn live footy next season, and support whoever actually runs out in RWB.
Hope you're all safe and well, for some reason I'm feeling a bit down today, and posting on here at times is almost therapeutic. So far, today is one of those days.
Go Dogs.![]()
I actually think WA will be worse next year in that the rest of the country will open up but they'll start to get outbreaks and lockdowns. Just my 2 cents. The borders aren't going to be closed for much longer.

No word from the English camp. Fremantle have suggested if they trade Lobb they may be looking for a replacement. To save me scanning 50 pages back, can someone fill me in on the latest with English?
Is he open to trade back to Perth?

That's it.
Its rumoured that he has a standing 5 year offer from Freo.To save me scanning 50 pages back, can someone fill me in on the latest with English?

According to cornes.. We know how accurate he is. I doubt they'd entertain trades for Sicily like he is suggesting. McEvoy a big chance though.Anyone above the age of 26 are on the table at the hawks
Perhaps we have another crack at Ben McEvoy
