They hadn't made it a public holiday but they did say that people who work on Christmas Day would get penalty rates.
But in exchange they took away penalty rates for Christmas Eve... would would negatively affect even more people.

Peter Malinauskas would secretly be absolutely loving this. What an absolute gift for their political advertising.
Don't forget the "influential person" list reference like it's something that matters. Time's Most Influential People of 2021 list includes Britney Spears, Xi Jinping, Tucker Carlson, and Donald Trump

I'd usually be critical of Labor for playing politics and not reaching compromise, but this is definitely a 'no compromise' situation ala teal pbs.
The guy seemed pretty measured, acknowledged other factors but said there was evidence that needs further invetigating. He wasn't making a Fox News rant. He is a Cardiologist. He's suggesting that there is evidence that points to the Vaccine increasing heart attacks. Do you think that deserves more investigation or not? It's an interesting and contradictory stance by the Clique that the Big Pharma Vaccines are accepted without question, in fact almost zealous militancy, yet those same people decry the unjust American Health System which Big Pharma dictates.

Spot on. There are health risks associated with any drug. The issue is and always has been about weighing up that risk against the health impacts of the condition it is treating.
And the relative level of those risks is never a finite issue - it is refined with more data and more research over time.
By way of example, for the past 20 years doctors were almost unanimous in recommending that low dose aspirin be taken to reduce the risk of cardio-vascular disease in adults, even for those with no evidence of disease. A new low dose form of aspirin, under the brand name 'Cartia', was introduced in Australia to respond to this demand and treat associated conditions such as moderately high blood pressure.
Well guess what, last month health authorities in both the US and Australia released a draft guideline stating that a daily regimen of low-dose aspirin is no longer recommended as a preventative measure to reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems in older adults without heart disease.
There is one certainty here from research so far undertaken in relation to approved covid-19 vaccines. And that is the substantial risk of severe illness, death or long term health complications from covid-19 is substantially minimised across the population from the recommended vaccination regime.

Not overly convincing to me.
Looks to be a sensationalist magazine type presentation.
‘ If ‘ this….’if’ that.
Vague, anectodal and the first study he mentions has not been peer reviewed and shows many areas of concern in its design and conclusions.
Not saying there might not be some slight issue with the vaccines but he goes on this program and sets of a hysterical social media storm by the anti vaxers.
