I didn't watch the Hawks vs Power game but was stunned at the result and even more when I saw the stats sheet.

Power won almost every statistical category and by a fairly large margin in many cases.

What the hell happened?

No idea whatsoever, but I thoroughly enjoyed whatever it was!

Nothing wrong with Port than a new board/chairman and coach wouldn't fix.

Their financial situation is still a bit concerning, but on field, they are in much healthier shape than the Crows, who look at least 5 years away from making finals under their current list..

The media esp in Melbourne, have gone way too easy on Kenny Hinkley, he is long overdue to be on the hot seat and held accountable for the Power being chronic underachievers for almost a decade now

The problem is it's very hard for eighteen teams to win a premiership in one season because there's only one premiership per season between the eighteen teams.
Ergo the solution is obviously adding more premierships because more premierships = more chances of holding a cup in the air and streamers.

To start with the AFL should re-introduce pre-season premiership cup, and also AFL-X to go along with the AFLM and AFLW premierships.
AFL could also give a cup to the best SA/WA/QLD team every year, so they stop whinging so much?

I think also a "random" premiership every year, ie: the AFL just picks a name out of a hat, I think that's a good idea because then there's an equal chance for every club to win a premiership, regardless of list, injuries/depth, fixture inequalities, coaching, anything really.

So that's what I think.

Could have a best of the west premiership for WA teams
Best of the blessed for SA teams

Stats are very deceiving. We dominated the game.

I think there's a problem with South Australian junior footy setup. Port should still make finals, we've gone early here, crows seem to have stagnated, they were exciting at times last year, where's their run and carry.

Too many spindly units flinching at the tough stuff or scared of winning a hard ball getting a run.

Marshall, Himmelberg types. Doubt they even get on a list outside SA.

Well getting stripped of our 2012 and 2013 first and second round picks didn't help when compared to a Victorian team doping an entire squad and only getting stripped of one year's worth of picks, and getting pick one as a reward a year later.

If sanctions were fair the crows would likely have Cripps on its list right now.

Marshall was a first rounder and has played plenty of good footy for port, I doubt anyone has had as tough as a journey to play AFL.

Himmelberg has shown promise, what I don't understand is hately has hardly played at the crows yet played good footy at gws. Why is he behind crouch, why wasn't crouch traded?

With both Crows and Power being rubbish this year is it time for an enquiry into South Australian Football?

It's been 18 years since a South Australian side won the premiership so I think questions may have to be asked soon about where the Crows and Power are at?
It shows the importance not only the coach, but also the CEO and the chairman/president. With a different coach, and a president who was prepared to sack Hinkley years ago, Port would have added a flag by now.

Swap out Hinkley for an even half decent coach and fair chance port take one, if not both of the last two premierships.

Or, just delete every GF result from the AFL era history books and award the Premiership to the best team in the home and away competition rather than accommodate 1 month wonders like the Bulldogs.
Its a win, win, you'd still be reigning Premier, we'd be equal first for cups and SA football wouldn't look so bad after all.
