I was just listening to Nathan Buckley talking about this incident and he was talking about how impressive it was that Tom Stewart was able to put this out of his mind and go on to dominate the game.

There's your "deeply upset" good bloke right there. He simply doesn't give a toss about what he did nor does he care about the bloke he did it to -- still not one ounce of concern for Prestia's well-being voiced by him or anybody else from Geelol.

I was shown another video of the incident this morning and have to say: the more I learn, the more I'm convinced that Stewart absolutely intended to do exactly what he did. He can spare us the crocodile tears.

It may depend on the President of the AFL Players’ Association coming publicly out and stepping up and speak in the Media about player safety on the Footy field...how the player's head is sacrosanct from attack and play...that deliberate ko's of oppo players on the footy field deserve the maximum penalty of at least 6 weeks...is frowned upon by both the AFL and Player's Association!

In fairness to the president of the AFLPA he was very vocal about player welfare back when Nick Vlaustin was KOd in a grand final.

He had lots to say about that incident and I recall him being very concerned about Patrick Dangerfield's player welfare.

I have just seen the incident on On the Couch where they have given it better coverage and it clearly shows Stewart dipping his shoulder straight into Dion’s head. It is near impossible to believe that was not deliberate in the moment. So the grading should definitely be intentional and not careless imo.

On the basis of what you just told me, I've deleted the post -- closest I can do to a retraction.

I'm still a bit stunned that no public mention was made of it by Scott in his presser. Seems to me that "we really hope Prestia is okay" should be the thing you lead with not "Tom is really upset". And when "Tom is really upset" is the ONLY thing you say, well, let's just say my OTT criticism should be graded "careless" rather than "deliberate" 'cause I swear I never meant to say anything bad about Tom.

I think it should of been classed as intentional as well but even without that grading he is still probably set for a decent whack

Ive said since Saturday night that 4 seems around the mark and think that’s what the outcome will be

Was a shocking incident but not as bad as ones like Hall or Gaff with closed fist punches they are the ones that need to have those longer suspensions

And besides Vickery, no one was fully defended our players actions. Even Richmond supporters stated Houli would get weeks and rightfully so.

Cats fans are a special breed where most of them think it was nothing or worth 1 or 2 at most.

Dangerfield needs to be stood down from AFLPA immediately. Dions health and well-being should be of a great concern to the players association. Tha smug campaigner should be more considerate to Dion and his parents. If dion was my kid I’d be furious

Has been extremely poor from the Cats camp. Not hard to acknowledge the affect of Dions concussion on he and his family.
Wouldn't mind if the Cats lose 3 out of their next 4 with Stewart missing. Would be some sort of compensation.
