And a tad concerning. They aren't obliged to limit it to 4 weeks.

The AFL coverage of the Tribunal deliberations was abysmal. No mention of who the Tribunal members are. And about ½ a dozen posts.:(

I wonder if there’s ever been a case where the tribunal handed down a suspension longer than what the AFL rep asked for?

What was the AFL pushing for with the Toby Greene ump bump last year?

FOUR WEEKS FOR STEWART

And it's four weeks for Tom Stewart.
Tribunal chair Jeff Gleeson said:
"The bump was late. He (Prestia) was wide open, exposed and vulnerable.
"Stewart had sufficient time to see Prestia had not taken possession.
"He ran past the ball and made a conscious, albeit split-second, decision to bump Presita at speed.
"The degree of carelessness was high.
"He breached his duty of care by some margin."

Sorry to intrude, I just wanted to say that the outrage from the Tigers supporters on their board is out of control. Especially in their assertion that it was a 'targeted' and 'sniper attack'. Some of you may remember earlier this year, one of their young blokes, Mansell, copped a week for elbowing Ginnivan in the back of the head twice while he was on the bottom of a pack. I recall several posts on their board at the time saying that Mansell should've hit him harder and/or that it was worth the suspension.
I accept Prestia was actually hurt in this incident, but honestly they can give it a rest with the holier than thou attitude.

Agreed...while stewart was clumsy and deserves to get suspended its a football action rather than dog actions like mansells and ladhams which got less weeks even though we should be cracking down on those more than ones like stewarts. The grading system is wrong.

Honestly if this was the US I'd expect an active shooter situation at out next home match.

Thank god we have background checks, licensing, and limits on automatic firing

They won’t …which is a shame as their reasoning for the verdict could be challenged

Plenty of time in 0.39 seconds after all 🙄🙄🙄
Didn't they change the rules meaning you could appeal without the risk of an increased suspension? Whats to lose there.

Compare this to other 4 week suspensions, not even anywhere near the same.

Why poke the bear just move on and change the focus …mind you I agree with you entirely just that the club will want to move away from all this hysteria

Appealing would go against everything that has come from the club since Saturday (including Scott, Selwood and Stewart) that we accept full culpability and will accept whatever penalty is handed down. Can’t see it happening.

Whilst it's not season ending like his foot injury, too miss massif games v Melbourne, Carlton and PA (A) will make it tough for t4 possibly.
