Disposal still horrible. We haven't learned how to do it since round 1's pathetic example.
I turned off after Hawks' 9th goal. One of the causative factors was the example passage of play where, after a whole lot of excellent fighting by us, Berry got the ball on the flank and carefully guided the kick out of bounds under no pressure (no shanking or anything). This was immediately followed by Hawthorn's 2021 mid-season recruit getting the ball in exactly the same situation and kicking it straight to a teammate: goal! This was too much for me.
Schoey was terrible with his disposal: everything straight to the oppo. You can't win like that and you can't blame the coach for it.

On the other hand, when I turned back on in the last, we seemed to actually be playing football. ROB seemed to be trying in that quarter, and McHenry was everywhere. The umps were terrible, though.
Disposal improved a lot in the 2nd half......you didn't see them because you turned off lol.

Almost no one played well

Senior midfield accumulating meaningless, sideways, under pressure, garbage touches and having zero impact on the game while being a liability defensively

That pushes our (possibly) talented young midfielders into roles they weren't drafted for and don't really know how to play. The games of Hately, Soligo, Schoenberg and others all suffer as a result

This puts pressure on our defense as they are under siege. Everyone plays poorly as they're constantly out of position, defending laser entries under no pressure. And when they do get the ball they're under pressure as our midfield isn't offering them anything

Up forward we have the worst entries in the entire league. Our forwards are probably thinking of spots in the SA desert to drop off the bodies of the midfielders they're playing with.

We make a few small and completely unnecessary adjustments like adding Crouch back in and it has massive flow on effects across the entire team

Hamill had some fantastic moments. Was definitely the best of our young brigade.

Berry continues to shine with his attack on the man and the ball. His decision making and execution by foot is awful though.

Crouch, as much as I can’t stand him, was actually pretty good today. Got a lot of handballs out to guys in good positions. Best game for the year from him.

Thilthorpe had some nice moments.

Jones was a complete abomination.

Tex was shit.

Soligo had a poor day.

Schoenberg made some bizarre decisions.

Laird had the worst 42 possession game the AFL has ever seen. Made horrendous decisions with about 30 of them.

Dawson got annihilated.

Hately was terrible.

Rowe was terrible.

Expecting this squad to magically produce silky skills is the definition of insanity. Our first round drafting is a laughing stock.

Walker rightly cracked the shits with Berry for not atleast putting the ball to his advantage.

When was the last time a kick from Laird, Keays, Smith or Berry went to the advantage side of one of our forwards?

I’m not talking about scenarios with Smith’s lace out to a free forward, I’m talking about where our mids needed to kick the ball to a contest - when was the last time they kicked it to the advantage side of our forward in that contest?
Walker cracks the shits at the young player but campaigns for Crouch's selection. Boys club.

all our problems start on the selection table and in the middle with ROB, Keays, laird and crouch.

the worst midfield combination in the comp.

keays is barely sanfl standard. just shit. a shit player who tries hard that was delisted by a club that knew he was shit and picked up by a club that prioritises trying hard over actual skill and decision making. he’ll never be good and is a total liability.

laird isnt a midfielder‘s arseh*le. never was and never will be.

crouch is a sanfl gun that is too slow for the AFL. the AFL level has passed him by.

ROB - can’t kick, cant mark, can barely handball and loves spoiling his team mates in marking contests which he does week in week out. and we would literally be better off going without a ruck with his shit tapping abilities and clumbsiness around the ground. hilarious the morons running the shitshow think he’s someone that maybe could be a forward.

all these guys need to go before anyone else.. and Nicksy and Roo can follow them out the door.

just a big FK U to the lot of them.

smith is cooked. shoenberg is garbage. murray i’m not sure on…

Milera isnt a forward. mchenry is a bust. Rowe hasnt got it. all these blokes need to be sent back to the sanfl.

Can anyone explain the maths to me?

Brodie Smith - 24 possessions, 92% DE, 9 turnovers??

Special shoutout to Brodie Smith who was especially horrible as far as senior players go.

He is offering us NOTHING. And he's in the leadership group!

Cannot kick to our advantage for the life of him. Defensively poor. Offers zero leadership on the field. Just bangs it on the boot long and hopes for the best

We all laugh at Matt Crouch getting 98 meters gained, but Smith having 800 meters but 9 turnovers is no better

The issue is the coaches will look at smiths stats (20+ disposals and 800 metres gained) and give him a tick.

They won’t look at the footage and note that smiths long bombs often go to opposition players uncontested.

Like seriously, how can you bomb it 55 metres to an opposition player on their own. Does smith need glasses?
