I think both Fagan & Eric should have come out in the foetal position sucking their thumb & only taking it out to heave a big sigh and to say we are s**t & should all walk away from the game. But negative talk will?
Where have any of the players or the Coach "pumped" themselves up?
I'm at a total loss as to what narrative you expect from the playing group and/or the coach after such a shattering loss?
Put yourself in Fagan's shoes and tell us what should have been said after that loss
That would make me feel much better about myself and the club I support....in my opinion.Yeah it's hilarious that supporters want the players to feel the pain of losing like they do what absolute losers if only every supporter were bandwagoners instead who didn't give a s**t about the club.
You're a total genius at extrapolating what someone says and trying to make out it's something more bizarre to pretend that what they said in the first place has no validity.I think both Fagan & Eric should have come out in the foetal position sucking their thumb & only taking it out to heave a big sigh and to say we are s**t & should all walk away from the game. That would make me feel much better about myself and the club I support....in my opinion.

That's a mouthful but an honest assessment of what actually occurred.Being at the game on Sunday my honest response would be " we felt in the first half that we capitalized on Richmond's skill errors at certain times to put scoreboard pressure on them. We were playing very well but Richmond were not at their best with disposal. I thought our pressure was a contributing factor to that. We were able to chip the ball around at our own leisure and transition the ball through the middle of the ground at will especially trying to get the ball in Kiddy's hands with his elite disposal running through the midfield. Our connection with our forwards seemed good due to the time we had with ball in hand to make good decisions especially the first quarter. In the second half Richmond turned up the heat by applying alot more manic pressure when we had the ball which caused us to panic a bit with ball and we started our bombing of the ball down the line and into our forward line which is not what we were planning to do. We felt Richmond wanted to speed up the game abit by playing a bit more manic football which we could not match in leg speed especially Bolton. When Richmond were coming i was disappointed we could not stop the flow or change momentum of the game. This is where i will ask our leaders in the club to stand up and be counted. Who is going to try and say i will drag this team with me. Who's going to be our leader on the field to do something to make the others want to follow. Even though we were a few soldiers down with injuries I still emphasized to the boys that we had our opportunities to win the game as we had plenty of opportunities at shots on goals but we didn't take our chances and unfortunately we lacked some composure and our skill errors let us down. To finish of we were up by 42 points and if we want to be a fair dinkum contender we can't lose those games. Blokes need to stand up when needed and if they don't then we will look at our boys in the 2's to see who can fill the void. "
Or if one of our talls is such a worry that we have to play a ruckman as a sub because our coaching department is confident one of them will go down then don't play that tall, give them a rest and use Fort and/or Payne in the first 22.That makes sense if that was the case but if so it would've been smarter to have Payne as the sub. At least he can run around a bit and replace a tall forward or back. And provide a tall option on the wings with McStay rucking on the remote chance that Oscar went down.
It’s not all bad for us though.
The same Richmond who everybody rates again after beating us on the weekend, gave up a 40 point lead to Gc 3 weeks ago.
So there is still hope for us yet.
That’s the pessimistic way to look at it I guess? That we're capable of giving up an 82 point lead against the Suns!!!
There's still some hope that we can turn it around if we get all our players fit and well. As long as we acknowledge internally our shortcomings and have a strategy to overcome them. For me one issue is that Andrews , Gardiner and Adams seem half shot , Answerth isn't quite up to it imo ,and now Starc has an injury issue. If any problems the first 3 have is just imaginary and they're all physically ok then it really enhances our chances. That's as far as the backline goes.I think what we're looking for is an acknowledgement from the club that they understand that we have serious problems that need addressing. The last 2 months we've had banal platitudes and more learnings than you can point a spoon at.
My concern is that the club refuse to acknowledge the fundamental issues we're facing. It might be too late to change them this year. If we'd tweaked the gameplan a month ago, maybe we could be better in time for finals.
I'm not expecting them to come out and say "we can't win it this year", but honestly, I don't see how we can.
Saying "in hindsight, maybe we should have done X" isn't cutting it because we knew 4 months ago we weren't in form. We knew 3 months ago that the gameplan wasn't working, and we knew 2 months ago that the defence had fallen apart. In foresight, Fort was a bad choice. In foresight, we lack speed and spread. In foresight, we are definitely at finalist level, we are definitely not at premiership level.
I'm not looking for the club to acknowledge that at all. At this point of the season they should be concentrating on winning the next match not causing distractions by kowtowing to disgruntled fans. That is why clubs have post season reviews.I think what we're looking for is an acknowledgement from the club that they understand that we have serious problems that need addressing. I think what he's trying to say is that those at the club surely don't believe their rhetoric and are actually acting on what the issues really are , if they're able to.I'm not looking for the club to acknowledge that at all. It really doesnt matter what the club's rhetoric is at this point. The club's sole focus right now is to get the team into the finals in the best possible position and not have to worry about explaining every decision they make to fans stamping their feet like toddlers. Nothing the fans say now makes an iota of difference to the outcome of this season and they should stop pretending it does and let the professionals at the club get on with the next game. Save the recriminations until the season is over.I think what he's trying to say is that those at the club surely don't believe their rhetoric and are actually acting on what the issues really are , if they're able to.
Looking at how some of our players barely got through Sunday's game and how others were not showing their normal capacities in the second half ,yes ,the total focus should be on getting as many of our good players as we can up for this Sunday and trying to win that match any way we can.

I don't think anyone sensible is asking them to explain every decision they make . Or indeed any.It really doesnt matter what the club's rhetoric is at this point. Don't get that. You're basing your argument on the false premise that your concept of reality aligns with mine or dare i say it, anyone else's. I doubt that you are claiming to be the arbiter of reality.
We are guaranteed to play finals - probably pretty close to locking in a home final which gives us a fairly good chance of winning at least one final and making it so SF/PF stage. That is a month away. Fages just watched us have a devastating loss but also probably put together the best quarter of footy this squad has ever played.
You think with a team thats going to go fairly deep in September that just showed it can play premiership level footy - that hes going to come out and say its no use, we arent up to it? His job is to instil belief.

boo hisssssss
I don't even know what his infraction was but i'm FURIOUS!
I still cannot believe Pickett got off against Bailey.Dear Tribunal
