This past week has been really interesting regarding Ken and the national media. So much coverage and all because of a handful of white noise? The picture isn’t very clear.
If it’s a minority of supporters why did Koch come out so ambiguously strong on Monday and didn’t just back in Hinkley? Why is there so much national media backing him in, in such a short timeframe?

I'd rather we wind up.

I'd go support Brisbane or Saints on the telly, and Wally the welder, Peter the plumber, and Sam the shop worker, on the weekend in the SANFL.
I tell you, this is genuine thought process at the minute - and I doubt I am alone.

My Amateur club is a single decision away from getting my full support/interest, and doing away with the AFL completely. Why waste time?

I wouldn't be fooled by the tough talk that comes out from Kochie every year around the same time.

1. The Board value stability above all else - given the clubs position; they don't want to have to risk the highs and lows of an unknown quantity.
2. The Board don't want to be seen as pandering to what they claim to be a vocal minority (whether they are out of touch with the general supporter base is another argument to be had)
3. Ken still has the support of the playing group
4. The ball is in Ken's court if he wants to call time.
5. They'll throw some of the assistants under the bus and classify that as change.

Quoted just incase anyone missed it.

Point #4 is especially enraging. Kenny gets to make the call on his future. Kenny gets what Kenny wants and no-one can tell him otherwise.

The inmates are running the asylum. This club is doomed under DK's watch.

The first question off the rank for every journo at a player's press conference from here on in will be "Do you want Kenny to be coach next year?" and every player is going to say yes.
It wouldn't be a great career move for a player to say anything negative about the coach - I doubt he'd be playing against Essendon.

All this is doing my head in.
I feel like there is momentum there, i do wonder if there are certain members of the board/or the AFL who are resisting. I feel like Koch wants him gone but i don't think he can unilaterally make that decision.
Once again we have too many people on our board serving different masters.
Were the experts at pissing away momentum with weakness.

Just look at the prison bars debate.

* I'm melting hard this morning.

Vintage Natalie Portman nudes couldn't harden me up.

That's understandable. I vented hard after Hinkley's 360 appearance on Monday. It's out of my system more or less now. IF what C4 says is true and Hinkley is kept on I'm now more than ready to move on from this club and this sport. Rugby league has always been my main sport anyway

Correct. Verified through multiple sources as far as 12 months ago that CD didn't rate Hinkley and if it had been up to him (it isn't), Hinkley would have left the club quite some time ago.

My eyes popped out of my head when I saw last night's report.
Ken has probably convinced Koch that it was CD's bad vibes that ruined our season.

Just like Schofield last year.

This is the worst thing I've had to read on the internet and it makes me very sad.

AFL is official done for me.

If he is not gone within 48 hours after the final game of the season, I will not be renewing mine, nor my kid's memberships for next season. I cannot take another season of the Ken Hinkley Social Club (formerly known as the Port Adelaide Football Club).

I'm gonna get far more projects in the grudge done that's for sure.

How can the board consider this season stable given the circumstances - top 4 expectations, with results being an 0-5 start and a current 4 game losing streak???

In other words the fans have to hope that GWS offer Ken a godfather type deal because otherwise he's going to be Port's coach for the foreseeable future.

So if Ken actually went I reckon Davies does too. Probably together.

Feels like tail wagging the dog.

Kochie needs to go if Ken stays, he has no choice does he? Let the next bloke with no connection to Ken terminate him next year.
If ken's stays and we become a dumpster fire next year, half the board including Kochi should Walk

It was always tokenism. Lol she's an Eagles supporter ffs.
Ransom is not on the board for tokenism. Koch had her appointed to the board because he thinks it makes him look good by association. Ransom is held in high regard by vacuous corporate types who thrive on meaningless buzz words, the very people Koch wants to appeal to. As a died in the wool West Coast supporter I imagine she does bring an alternative view.

Be interesting to see what Hinkley is thinking.

Is his value as coach better now or next year in terms of getting another job. He'd know that at best 2023 is his last year as PAFC coach so is it better to move on your own terms? Particularly when there are 2 vacancies that he'd be a big chance to get.

Flip side is he may not want to coach again and he'll take from us what he can in the mean time.
Odds are in favor of ken getting an extension if he stays next year, easier draw, clubs don't sack coaches that make finals

A lot of people will be pleasantly surprised when they discover the happiness they get from investing their time and energies into pursuits they have control over and make them physically and mentally better people, rather than investing that time and energy (and money) into a bunch of over paid charlatans who are deified for kicking a piece of leather full of air around an oval.

F*** this. Final straw. If they come out and back Ken today I’m gone completely from AFL. Deleting everything to do with the sport and getting on with my life. Wasting so much time dedicating emotion to a club run by vanilla franchise hacks.
I've felt this way most if the year,I'm just pissed I no longer have an sanfl side to go watch
