The truth as always is somewhere in the middle. They’re certainly not a finals level team but they’re not bottom four either. They really should occupy the upper regions of the bottom 10 IMO.

Yeah they are below where they probably should be this year, but is that just because they were so much better last year than any one expected?

While I'm not sure what all these reviews are other than glorified sacking expeditions, surely at least you have to have an external one not internal? What if the board is the core issue and you've got 3 board members who ran one a couple of years back coming to the same conclusions?

I think of all clubs, Essendon could do with an external review.
We're cut from the same cloth Carlton were. Arrogant, insular and pathetic.

I'd be onboard anyone who is behind an external review.
Keep Mahoney on to help. I have a lot of faith in him and he's not been around long enough to get Essendon'd.

Has it really? Neutral observers had Adelaide, Hawthorn, Essendon and Collingwood in a similar position, with Roos and West Coast at the bottom.

Collingwood have done better than expected, but Hawthorn and Essendon are where I would think most had them.

The problem is people believing media click-bait hype.

GWS are the real basket case this year. And they rightly moved on their coach - about 2 years too late.

Did you realistically expect to finish more than say 11th this year? Always feel last year was a write off season, COVID year, form lines were always tough to completely get. Didn't feel Essendon were really a finals side last year even though they made it. Being honest where did you expect to come before this year?
