Just quietly our whole list management decisions change if we are confident that Marchbank and McGovern are over their injuries. That might be the biggest decision that we have to make.
for me it means we try and push Doc up the ground. Williams, Saad, Newman, Stoker and Boyd play the three small defender roles alongside Marchbank, Gov, Young and Weitering. A similar tall setup to the Richmond premiership sides.
What we do with Kemp becomes interesting.

Anyone else think we should have another crack at Ollie wines this off-season? I honestly think would be a great fit for our midfield and would love playing under vossy. We might be able to get another Brownlow year out of him..

If we offloaded Dow and considered offloading Kennedy and setterfield we might be able to gain a little bit of currency also?
If we are having another crack at someone it should be papley

This week and hopefully finals to clarify some things however
Have been a fan but...

Dow, see what we can get
LOB, same
Cunners, not sure
Philip, as above

Put time into
Martin
Marchy and Gov and make them the players we know they can be and get 3 very good yrs out of each of them

We have lots of talent around 25 and captain at 27
Time is now, big decisions over the summer re draft or trades as we can't wait 4 yrs for a kid or kids to make it

I'd be going chips in for next year to get to 17,needs to happen in the next couple of years, our kids are becoming men and we have little to show for it

Cap is getting tight also

It is about headspace

McDonald has had various back issues across something like 4 seasons, and you want to keep him? He's done.

Durdin gets a maybe, but I'd rather we just start acquiring and drafting. From an athletic standpoint, there should be much better options out there in the DFA market and towards the back of the draft, plenty of them with football ability to work with.

I agree, he has had two seasons and his back has been bad for both of those. And we have seen him in 3 games, one as a sub where he played well fwd and the other 2 servicable as a backman. We dont even know if he is really any good after these 2 years. Move on to someone else who doesnt have back issues.

If they rookie Durdin im ok with that but like you, id be looking elsewhere. We need to get an 18yr old key back to develop ourselves as well. Get a 22-23 yr old and an 18yr old key backman for me.

Happy to move Durdin on if there is a better option but good luck finding that unless we are going to want to pay atleast an extra ~$200k for them and even then I doubt they have anymore runs on the board then Durdin. KPD’s are in pretty hot demand so we won’t get good depth at a decent price imo.

How on earth is there any discussion based on potentially keeping McDonald?

It's akin to keeping an empty fire extinguisher.

If he's over his back issues it's certainly a discussion. Let's not forget he started the year in the senior side.

Young has now passed him but we were light on for KP options already so may very well keep OMac around given he can contribute in a variety of roles.

I’d rather see if we can get Brayden George in the draft.
Good burst ability through traffic, superb kick of the footy, great goal nous and can go through the middle.
Just what we need. Would pair with Motlop and Durdin very nicely and compete with the Fisher role longer term potentially.

on talent but it's a big IF. understudy needs to be ready to step in so C+ and durability better than B and perennially injured.

Why haven't we at least experiment with Stocker in the guts? Is this 'tank' issue actually a genuine problem? Last week Setters showed that he can comfortably take over that position from Dow, but where does that leave Stocker, in the back pocket? Sadly he has shown very little over the last 4 years playing in a position which he clearly shouldn't be in.

That's certainly an optimistic take. 3 active games in two years.

We already carry a perpetually unavailable Marchbank, and rarely. sighted Cuningham, Williams, Martin and McGovern. Never say never, but I would be surprised.

Incredibly odd we chose him over Levi.

Agree has the major question marks on his durability based on the last 2-3 years now.

Durdin has capacity to be that fill in as required and drafting a young tall.

Agree letting Levi go was a boo boo, could have been so useful , essential at times. We’ve been scrambling ever since we let him go without proper contingency plans.
