Surely the new president and his backers don't last here. Pushed the other guy out as he backed the coach and they wanted to hunt Clarko. And they have failed miserably.

The issue is they think where Essendon and anyone given the chance would be honored to coach them because they are Essendon. The fact is for the last 20 years they have been in the bottom 8 teams for performance and have won less than 50% of games in that time. Even the records in finals years have been poor in that time only scraping in most years with mediocre win-loss records.

The board still think they are the Essendon of the 80's and 90's.

My long held (well, six days lol) view is Barham used this to blow up the board. He knew Clarko wasn't coming.

But can now say: "You idiots, Sheedy, Dodoro, Campbell - you cost us Clarko! Now get out of my way and let me clean this joint up!"

Whether that works or he gets rolled by Sheeds so HIRDY can come back is another issue.

Just found out the news and you gotta give respect to North Melbourne for landing Clarko, that’s a big statement of intent.
As for Essendon, I’m sure everyone’s on the same page with how badly this has been dealt with. It’s so frustrating knowing Rutten isn’t the coach to take us forward by the middle of the year and Clarko being available, to then leave it last minute… and show the unprofessional and disrespectful treatment to Ben Rutten

. Wether you think he’s a good coach or not, the manner this was dealt with is embarrassing and shows the incompetence of the board.

I genuinely don’t know what we do know, seeing Hird being talked about as coach is the last straw for me as a fan. You may as well fold the club at this point.

literally 99% of Essendon fans on and off this board i know do not want hird back as senior coach.

There is a fair % that would be happy to see him as an assistant and then work to get the respect back but a senior coach straight away, no way.
