So how can we get the club to reset? Any ideas on what we have to do? Feels as though it's met a critical mass and nothing has happened.
The boys club even know that the football public is onto them now.

A ticket (ie a group of new board members) could launch a challenge, force a vote and take over.

It's very hard to do however. It takes a lot of time, money and expertise to run that campaign and you need the right people to be willing to do it.

The only way your average supporters can bring pressure on the club is by voting with your feet. Don't join as a member, don't go to games. That en masse is the only thing that will really bring pressure on the club.

Can't read the article behind a pay wall, why is he considering leaving?
Essendon great Simon Madden is understood to be considering his position on the Bombers’ board.

Madden, who has been a board member since 2013, was aligned with deposed chairman Paul Brasher and was a supporter of sacked coach Ben Rutten.
He is believed to have been frustrated by the events of the past week.
Madden’s unease further fuels the factional dispute currently being played out behind closed doors at Essendon.

Essendon’s hunt for an experienced coach could see it attempt to prise Ken Hinkley out of his Port Adelaide contract as the spectre of James Hird once again hangs over the embattled club.

The Bombers sacked Ben Rutten after three hours of “rigorous discussion” at Sunday’s off-site board meeting, even though some directors and chief executive Xavier Campbell fought hard to save the 39-year-old’s coaching career.

President David Barham phoned Rutten to tell him his contract had been terminated before calling captain Dyson Heppell, vice-captain Zach Merrett and deputy vice-captain Andy McGrath.

Hinkley? Really?

I can’t believe that I wish Brasher didn’t step down. I believe he could have been pressured into an external review and stepped down after the review was completed. This is a nightmare.

No one would be prising Hinkley surely?

If you were prising, there would be 10 coaches ahead of him!
This was published on Sat morning, I agree with Gleeson's approach. If we want a coach with similar gravitas to Clarko then we have to ask the question of guys like Hardwick/Simpson even if we think we are going to be knocked back. Thats the "bold & courageous" actions I would like to see.

Hardwick’s football philosophy aligns with Rutten’s so we would be in the exact same position we are now where the coach reckons we are miles away, the board thinks we should be contending and the list manager disagrees with what we need.

Seems like something we would do.
