Which players in the competition thrive when if rains?

The ones that I can't think of off the top of my head are Bartel and Hird in his prime. Chad Cornes is also very good in the wet.

Brent Harvey is always good in the wet. He won the last E J Whitten medal for BOG in the last state of origin game when it was really wet.

You wouldn't expect many Bulldogs, Saints and Blues players to make this list; they are too used to the comfy indoor cofines of Telstra Dome.

This could be to their long term detriment because finals games are played out in the elements. This has certainly been the case with American football (Gridiron) teams that have indoor stadiums.

While not a wet weather specialist yet, Geelong fans would remember Djerrkura's one hand pick up and goal it pretty wet and greasy conditions, but Jimmy B is my pick for it.

keep an eye on Pendlebury and Thomas, the game against Port this year these two along with Cornes stood out with their clean ball handling in the wet!

his 5goal effort against the cats a few years back was one of several examples, i think even leigh matthews said it was one of the best individual games he'd ever seen, 34? possies, 5 goals, 10tackles including those 2 infamous goals from the boundary line in 2minutes

Yep, easily Bartel. Brock McLean has a reputation for being good in the wet too, but I haven't really seen him in the conditions.

Rischitelli played some pretty good footy in the wet pre-season I thought.
