Multiplat AFL 23: Launch Thread (Xbox release date TBC)

STATE OF PLAY:

• The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
• Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
• Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
• This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
• Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

JB guy told me while I was collecting that every man, woman and their dog was wanting the game ATM so I can certainly believe pre orders were high.

Did you read my other full comment? I make no excuses and am 100% on board with criticisms of a product if it's warranted, regardless of who made it. In this case, it's absolutely warranted and it better be fixed or I will be refunding the game.

However, talking about wanting companies to be "burnt to the ground" is undeniably ridiculous and you know it.

I think everyone wants BigAnt to succeed because that means we get a better AFL game. It’s just the communication which needed some tidying.

That's exactly what I said in my comment.

How we as consumers go about communicating our problems with the product needs to be mature and measured too, though.

I canceled my Xbox pre-order and moved it over to PS5.

TBH might just cancel completely and use the money on another game.

This whole debacle is nothing short of embarrassing. The communication and marketing leading up to the release is a joke.

I still don't understand if the day 1 patch issues are that the patch isn't downloadable yet or the patch was downloaded but broke a lot of s**t

It's fairly obvious that the final versions of the game are ones that delay your refund enough to keep the sale. This is a smash and grab. Hopefully to better resource the next game? Wherever in France that releases first

I was trying to remain positive and truly believed the lack of gameplay videos & not confirming certain features on launch was genuinely due to approvals from sponsors as per lines we've been given from Big Ant in the past but it is quite apparent now these were deliberately held back to hide the quality of the game as it stands at the moment. Here's hoping patches are incoming asap for those who are currently able to play.

If they had of actually answered peoples questions about features, instead of replying with personal attacks people wouldn't be revelling the poetic downfall so much.

Here's a tip BigAntStudios . Next time someone asks you if a feature will be in one of your games, reply either "Yes", "No", or "I can not comment".

I can hold off til its on sale, i will buy it in a few months when its finished anyway.

Not sure i have the time to sink into a few different versions of the game. I can remember all of this with afl Live.

I would have thought pro team and state leagues would be least of the worries given some of the footage and things like the interchange benches on the middle of the field.

Get the gameplay right before worrying about the other stuff.
