Multiplat AFL 23: Launch Thread (Xbox release date TBC)

STATE OF PLAY:

• The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
• Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
• Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
• This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
• Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

We'll never learn what has happened behind the scenes but stuff goes wrong in this space all the time. It's an imperfect business.

Exactly, some of these people ask their questions in such rude ways and then act shocked when they get treated poorly back.

They act entitled. I demand to be told this, I demand a response for this and a reasoning for that. Whilst In the meantime bagging the crap out of big ant and the game. After which they get annoyed and upset because Big Ant won’t even respond to them. Like hello, have you not seen how you have been talking to them. As I say it works both ways and you treat people how you want to be treated and then you might get a response you’re after.

There's been video made by third parties in days previous that show a better state of play than what is being presented today.

So that confirms that players being able to run the entire field without opposition like Mitch Robinson shows is the intended behaviour of the game.

It clearly has a lot of potential, but it's broken upon release and needs to be patched asap. I remember Live 1 working like a charm the day it came out.

AFL Live had issues at launch (a bunch of teams including the Eagles couldn't play through Season mode without the game crashing, and that was the only mode the game had apart from single match) but yeah, nothing like this.

Even the Evo games launched in a better state.

I was trying to remain positive and truly believed the lack of gameplay videos & not confirming certain features on launch was genuinely due to approvals from sponsors as per lines we've been given from Big Ant in the past but it is quite apparent now these were deliberately held back to hide the quality of the game as it stands at the moment. Here's hoping patches are incoming asap for those who are currently able to play.

Yes patches are coming and it’s been said already that the digital version launched isn’t the latest version so BA are working hard to fix these issues.

Just be patient, it’s day 1 remember.
