Who is the liar? 3 seperate aboriginal families?

Why this Clarko persecuted narrative? He was still able to do his job, I think part of it is he just cant be bothered coaching a crappy side while this investigation is going on. If his side was 7-2 like Fagan he wouldn't of stepped down.
AFL need to hold an inquiry with all concerned parties asap to determine any wrong doing.

If any party is unwilling to be part of the solution then the case is thrown out, or the accused are suspended. Put up or shut up.

The presumption of innocence is paramount but sadly, even from this blog, things are changing in Australia where the woke mind virus has gone feral.

This appointment had so much hype and hope for North.

I wonder how much this sets the plan back?

For Clarkson, I hope he's doing okay and looks after himself from a personal wellbeing perspective. Even if he did do something wrong with the Hawthorn situation, he still needs some human empathy.

The outcome of that investigation will obviously decide his coaching career. I don't think he's back at North until / unless he is cleared.
I honestly don’t think he’ll be back regardless of the outcome. Even if proven innocent. Why would you throw yourself back into the cauldron of AFL Coaching

Kennett widely and repeatedly accused of racism over many years.

Fagan and Clarckson leave.

Hawthorn inquiry set up to fail, players and partners evidence in camera, alleged offenders not even interviewed, no result, no satisfaction, someone cracks and blabs.

Details about Fagan and Clarckson leak. No details about Kennett leak.

Lots of hate for the player and partner who blabbed. Lots of hate for the coaches who left.

Geez I wonder who did the best out of this? Not Hawthorn, not Brisbane, not North, not the coaches, not the players, not the partners, not the league.

the AFL never learns any lessons, like the Essendon drug investigation - they are not equipped to deal with these serious allegations inhouse (try as they might)

It's not so much that they can't, or don't have the resources or whatever. It's that they're hopelessly conflicted and can't possibly be "independent", so they do their best to just stay quiet and hope things go away, or sweep it under the rug.

Then if they threw the book at Clarko, Fages etc after a month or two investigation people would of been like "why didn't they do it more thoroughly"
I see it more like , when they do an investigation they don't know what they'll find right? When something new comes up they have to investigate that also. I'm surprised people care that the investigation is taking so long. Clearly there's a reason for it. A reason that none of us know. But a reason nonetheless. People having tantrums about the length of an investigation makes me think that they're not thinking critically about why an investigation would stall.

Im pretty sure (without looking it up) that the investigation into Yorkshire country cricket racism went for a fair while as well. For those people wanting it dealt with in a month or two, what is your point of reference? What other comparable investigations have been done and dusted in that time? Its like some people think its just like a striking charge at the AFL tribunal.

This feels like PR.

In other words, this feels like an attempt to reverse the roles and paint Clarkson as a victim.

The reason is those conducting it are doing it after their normal work. Which doesn’t include everything else we have to do in a normal week, no wonder it’s taking too long.

I thought he was in a bit of strife when he refused to attend mediation until he had full access to the victims medical records. That was never going to happen and looked a delay tactic to me

Getting on the front foot to control the narrative is a common strategy in scandals.

In any case I do hope privacy of Clarko and family is respected.

Regardless of your thoughts either side of this issue, if we don’t have ‘presumption of innocence’ in the country, in the legal system, and in the hearts and minds of normal Australian’s, then we are lost as a country and only the have hate and revenge in our hearts and minds.
We do have that, no one doubted that. Who are these people wanting that done away with? Who wanted Clarko suspended for life and blasted into space before an investigation was complete?

If you are talking about online opinions, people have opinions about everything. People have opinions on court cases before they go to trial all the time, doesn't mean the legal system goes with whatever the public sentiment might be, processes are still (rightly) followed.

Strawman argument.

Its worked to some extend already if thats the case, judging by this thread.

Now suddenly he has been "hounded out of football", when 24 hours ago how much was he even being spoken about?

They ******* got him. What a cooked country we live in, where you're now guilty until proven innocent, or should that be "mediated", and anyone who makes an accusation is deemed by the entire media as a "victim".

Absolutely cooked country.
Whilst I don't disagree with the premise of fairness, the tone of your post suggests that this is a new thing? Like, a 'the world's gone mad' or a 'woke' thing?

But in reality, it's ways been the case. The only difference now is that it's happening to the odd 'powerful' white guy.

Historically, it's happened regularly to pretty much all minorities.

So people should be listening to the Murdoch press?

Are you claiming the other 30% (often Fairfax with Peter Costello helping call the shots) are the evil woke leftists?
I'm saying if you get all your information from only one source, you will never get the entire picture.

There's 3 sides to the truth.
Side 1, side 2, and the truth

Exactly. If a Catholic priest is arrested tomorrow for child sex offences, regardless of the legal process you'd better believe people are going to have an opinion about it. The presumption of innocence until proven guilty is for the courts, people are always going to make their own judgements on things.

Making serious false accusations is something that doesn't happen as often as people think. It's also a crime.

He’s a football coach. Not a politician.

Having something as serious as this hanging over his head whether guilty or not guilty and being in charge of a woefully performing team seems more likely.
