This George CHF stuff is mind boggling. Why wouldn’t we be running Zurhaar through there as he is more experienced, taller and bigger?
George isn’t a CHF, he’s a full forward. For all the deep forwards we have I believe he was the most proficient out of the goal square.

One of the most dangerous prospects on the lead I’ve seen - his leap and power are a sight to behold - scores goals from many avenues too.

Our Boy George will have em all Karma-ing chameleon's. Whatever that looks like.

Not sure if you're taking the pi$$ but he can play.
Yeah I'd take him for sure. But life as a North supporter is such a black comedy at the moment, I have to resort to getting my kicks from imagining how we secured agreements from Georgiades and Doedee shortly before they did their respective ACLs.

Great that the club is focussing on development this has been sub standard for a very long time. Surely Gavin Brown's position is no longer tenable? Will be a huge loss if Ratts leaves, top bloke but hard to begrudge him, it feels like he's ready for life after footy now that he has some closure. I wonder if Stuart Dew is on our radar?
Stewart Dew in charge of Fitness?

I’d be hoping our recruiters are scouring the top teams‘ seconds for possible recruits. Someone like Rhys Mathieson has struggled to get a consistent run at Brisbane due to their depth of midfielders. He continually dominates in the twos. He may not be a potential superstar but he comes from a winning environment, is hard at it and offers a lot more than quite a few on our list.
He has always done OK when given a chance

Jon Ralph reckons Doedee goes for round 2 compo (I think by which he means band 3 - so like $500kish a year).

Geez, if we were confident he was gonna move okay after his recovery, I'd consider giving the Crows our F2 to avoid diluting the Mckay compo.

AFL 2023: Adelaide free agent Tom Doedee’s future up in the air after revised offer from Crows

The future of star free agent Tom Doedee remains clouded after the Crows submitted a revised, low-ball contract offer for the defender. Here’s what it means.

Restricted free agent Tom Doedee is still mulling his future at the Crows after receiving a relatively modest contract offer after his second knee reconstruction.
This masthead can reveal Doedee had been offered a long-term deal at the Crows as a member of the leadership group and strong intercept marking defender.
Doedee had already torn his left ACL in 2019 but then in June tore his right ACL in a horror development for his contact talks.
Adelaide decided to park those talks to assess the situation, given the risk profile of a player returning from a second ACL tear.
The club’s revised offer was well short of the initial deal, which means Doedee has a decision to make on his future.

Brisbane had initial interest, but it is not known if they have lodged an offer for the 26-year-old.
Before he tore his ACL, he had averaged 15 possessions and 1.9 intercept marks in 12 games this season before tearing his anterior cruciate ligament against Gold Coast.
With only one round remaining in the home-and-away season, Doedee remains unsigned.
It seems likely his future will drift through the finals to the free agency period in the week after the Grand Final.
The Crows have unearthed some mid-sized defenders including Josh Worrell, Mitch Hinge, father-son Max Michalanney and 194cm Irishman Mark Keane across the season.
It means they would have to rejig their backline if he moved on – likely for a second-round compensation pick – but would be able to cope.
They might believe Worrell and Hinge can fulfil the Doedee role at a lesser contract value.
Clubs are within their rights to revise contract offers, given the changing circumstances of their lists.

Doedee’s round 12 ACL tear means he should be back in the early rounds of 2023.
He took the decision not to elevate him to the captaincy in his stride as the Crows made Jordan Dawson the replacement for Rory Sloane.
The Crows are aware of the sensitivity of their contract discussions with such a respected and popular player.
They are also searching for key defenders given Nick Murray has also torn his ACL this year.
Clubs are scouring the AFL for key position defenders, with Geelong’s Esava Ratugolea expected to be offered five and six-year deals by rival clubs to lure him out of the Cats.
Port Adelaide, Hawthorn and Essendon have all had interest in Ratugolea.
Ben McKay’s recent strong form averaging 3.8 intercept marks means clubs including Sydney and Essendon could ramp up their chase for the Roos restricted free agent.
Industry sources said on Tuesday McKay would need to secure a three-year $800,000 deal from a rival to trigger first-round compensation and give the Roos the No.2 overall pick, linked to their first-round selection.

He's done what, 2 ACL's in the last 3 years?
Not touching him.

How many blokes from Robbie Tarrant's draft did play a game this year ffs.
LOL. Focus on Tarrant. Ignore Gibcus. Ignore others like Howe, Logue and McGovern. Because it doesn’t suit your warped view that apparently you’re less likely to be injured as a defender. Ignore that Australian Rules Football is a 360 game. Ignore. Ignore. And only bring up specifics as the actual truth, the whole truth, doesn’t suit. :stern look

Do you know what "less likely" means? It doesn't mean "never happens". Listing defenders who have been injured doesn't prove or disprove that a guy like Comben is less likely to be injured in defense.

Nobody ever said defenders don't get injured too, you're just inventing that to try and defend your view against the word of seasoned football analysts like Todd Viney and myself.

Great, let's break Chom forever trying to play him forward to prove a point. Or let's try something different, that worked for a bloke we had in the same position.

The much anticipated Kangaroo cull has already started, but will Tarryn Thomas be out the door as well?

Thomas’ off-field behavioural issues this season have overshadowed his talents on the football field, but at his best, he can still be a damaging player as he has shown in recent weeks.

Which Tarryn Thomas will the Kangaroos get next season?

That’s the question, and if the answer is that it is too much of a risk for the Roos, they should entertain the option of trading him to a club confident it can get the best out of him.

He is still only 23 and is contracted to Arden St until the end of next season, but the Kangaroos have to work out if the interest from rival clubs is worth entertaining now before he comes out of contract at the end of 2024?

The Roos look likely to add Harley Reid to their talented but inexperienced roster that includes Harry Sheezel and George Wardlaw, if they cannot overcome Gold Coast this week.

Alastair Clarkson will be looking to add senior talent to replace the likes of retired Roos Jack Ziebell, Ben Cunnington, Aaron Hall and co.

But evergreen ruckman Todd Goldstein looks likely to be rewarded with a new deal after carrying the load for most of the year.

Could work well for both. They pay enough for band 1 compo and we pay a little overs for stephens/melican

Why you and Jon Ralph keep pushing this stuff re Tarryn is beyond me.
