Nyuon is an unrestricted free agent
I have wondered about this though.

Is the idea that he won't dilute the McKay compo because
1) he's played one senior game and he's on their rookie list, so his market value isn't perceived to be substantial, or
2) if he does have perceived value, it would effectively be cancelled out Goldy leaving, or
Do we just throw Richmond a token future fourth rounder?

Given he is UFA we can just sign him after the FA window closes ?

REID WANTS TO SPEARHEAD REBUILD

Highly-rated No.1 draft prospect Harley Reid has pledged to help rebuild whatever club picks him next month – whether that is West Coast or North Melbourne – as he looks to make an instant impression on AFL football next season.

The much-talked about 18-year-old says he wants to reward the club that picks him and play a role in helping them return to finals footy as soon as possible.

“If it is West Coast or if it is North (Melbourne), I would love to get in there and influence the team to turn them around and be a part of the process that puts them back into finals footy,” Reid said on SEN.

“Obviously, there are all those little percenters in earning respect (which come into it) … (but) I feel like I would love to be a part of a team that is not there at the moment. I would love to be a part of the process to (help) turn them around.”

Reid has long been talked about as the best player in the 2023 draft pool, with West Coast holding the No.1 draft pick but with North Melbourne – at picks 2 and 3 and a wealth of other good selections – capable of doing a trade or a deal to secure the teenager from Tongala.

He once again dismissed suggestions he had ever said he was not keen to play for the Eagles, saying: “You know what you said, your manager knows what you said, West Coast know I didn’t say it … it is a crazy trade period, who knows what will happen.”

Reid played for a variety of teams in 2023 including with Carlton and Essendon’s VFL sides, saying he copped it from a few AFL-listed players.

“I copped it a bit, to be honest (in) the Brisbane-Carlton game,” he said. “(It was Lion) Rhys Mathieson … he gave it to me. He was feeding me with, ‘Who am I?’.”

I’m hoping someone on this site can shed some light. With the 2024 end of Round 1 PP are they tied to where we finish next year or are they Pick 19 & 20 regardless.

Thanks

No, they are pick 19 and 20.

That said if we haven’t traded them this year and improve next year, the afl may take them away.

I tried to look this up. I think only free agents who qualify by being on a list for 8 years trigger compo.

With Biggie on his way, this won't happen, but I would seriously consider making a play for Nik Cox from Essendon.

They are bringing in 4 players who will all be in front of him. They don't know where to play him.

Id love to play him in a defensive intercepting role. He is so athletic and hes quick for 200cm.

Id look at something like this:

North give: Pick 15, Pick 21, 2024 PP (Pick 20)
North get: Nik Cox, Pick 11, Pick 31, pick 51

GCS give: Pick 11, Pick 31
GCS get: Pick 15, Pick 21

Ess give: Nik Cox, Pick 51
Ess get: 2024 PP (Pick 20)

Leaves us with 2,3,11,31,44,51,56 at the moment.
