Paid "experts" not across the absolute basic facts of trade and draft period, but we are all supposed to listen in wonder and respect their opinions on how we might use our draft hand!

Thinking this might be ok if we like all of the fateful 8:

1. Trade Pick 21, Pick 19 2024, Pick 44 to GC for Pick 11 & Pick 37
2. Trade Pick 11 & Pick 20 2024 to Geelong for Pick 8 & F3 (pick 15 would be the first offer)
3. Trade Pick 37 for Stephens
4. Trade F2 & F3 to Carlton for F2 & Fisher

Leaves us with 2,3,8,15 this year and Rd 1 & 2 next year.

The whole country knows they are jittery about taking Reid and really want to make sure they are in a position to lock in Curtain. Dealing with other clubs gives them no guarantee Curtain will still be on the board to the pick they traded down to.
