Yep, this is making an appearance here also, and probably getting more useful as the season draws to a close and this discussion ramps up

That's what I'm curious of too. Maybe we've been honest the whole time and it was only ever going to be a first round pick?

It's a weird scenario, and pretty stupid on Port's behalf to trade your future first if you didn't already have a handshake agreement that 24 will get it done. That's certainly what most of us thought.

Maybe they did, and Mackie's just being a campaigner about the whole thing.

It'll get done, but we might have to get a third team involved at this point.

They should have traded their future first instead of giving it away. I think it’ll be pick 24 plus a fringe player or later pick. I don’t think it’ll be Lord probably someone less interesting like Hayes, fills a list need for us.

Hopefully we're a pretty good side and we can rest some players.

We always look a little weird until June these days. Throwing the magnets around and seeing what works and what doesn't, break glass contingency plans, stuff like that.

On the resting though, I think some are getting mixed up. We don't have to be some dominant team to do that, we just have to not be chasing our tails and injury riddled like 2023.

I like the idea of leaving the trade to the last 15 min. If Port want him they give us Lord, if not he goes to draft. They can shove pick 23 up their ...

Further to that rival clubs will realize we aren't bluffing in the future...

It will likely you think be a late future pick or something similar. Can’t imagine a player will be involved now though funnier things have happened.

It won't get to that so don't worry about it, but it wouldn't be a big deal anyway.

If we let it get to that point then it's a clear indication that we don't rate this draft post the first 15 or so.

The whole things a joke really and it's clearly done for media suspense and tension.

They only telecast the last day, you can't tell me they don't hold a few deals off to make sure they get their viewers.

No we dont because the late picks will come in..if we use say 4 picks will be 8 24 80 and 98 which will end up as say 8 24 55 56. Trading 56 to move up to 48 is pointless. We are better off with an extra future 3rd or something for a better draft next year.

Any news on Ruckman Merry-go-round for this year? Haven't herd anyone of a Ruckman coming to our club yet. Was a few words on Lycett once if Port get Sweet.
But we definitely need a backup Ruckman
