I don't see the point in bringing another draft pick in unless we have a chance to get an upgrade into the top 5 picks... most of the kids (unless you the top 5 picks) are a good 2 years away from being a locked in b22 player. We don't have 2-3 years to waste on all the elite young players we have.

They need finals experience asap. Pushing top 4. And the only way for that is to bring in elite superstar calibre players who will immediately make a bigger garunteed impact for 4-5 years minimum.

Use all the picks to bring in everyone, gamble on using the later picks (40+) to get best available.

I'd rather Warner/Bolton/Kozzie who will give us elite performances from day 1 verse Drafting a mid/late 1st rnd pick who will spend a year getting used to the after, 2 years after really hitting his stride and then onwards perfecting his craft.

You've missed 3 years of BoltonKozWarner ball while one draftee is finding his feet in AFL and developing.

Fair chance that’s right but if it’s pick 21 and salary we shouldn’t rage. Meant to be a super deep draft so we can still pick very good prospects at pick ~20
I wouldn’t get too cozy with that pick though. Recon they will turn it into an F1 & later pick. Especially if we have already used 18.

Absolutely. Im not fussed if that is the case.

I still think its 10 + 18. Leaving us with 11 and 29 (or whatever it is)

But if we do trade say 10 + 11 for Bolton and 21 then we end up with 18, 21 and 29 (or whatever it is after all the compo bs)

In a normal draft id suggest you want to keep pick 11 ahead of having multiple picks around the 18-30 range.

The reality is this is not a normal draft due to the evenness of talent from say pick 10-30.

For example you will get talent at 27 in this draft comparable to say pick 13 in any other draft.

Having 18, 21, 29 in this draft can effectively get you talent equivalent to picks 12, 13, 14 in other years.

There is a reason teams want to accumulate more picks in the teens this year ahead of the really high picks. Why teams like North, WC, Adelaide etc want to split top 5 picks.

Because the top tier of this draft is only slightly better than the rest of the top 30 odd.

Im more than comfortable ending up with more top 30 picks over just pick 11 in this draft if thats the way it plays out

I still really really like the talent at 11 compared to 18. I won't melt over 10/11 but I hope the club holds strong. Sounds like Richmond are getting ridiculous wins on Baker and Rioli, they can take "a small loss" on Bolton. They'd fold on 10 and 18 eventually if we are strong enough.

Graham paperwork is in. Now we wait to see what the compo is, may be tied to what we give.

Tigre’s won’t be able to trade the compo pick to west coast, but can swap with our second to send back with baker.

I am keeping Amiss and Treacy over Warner. KPF who are young and both have shown they can kick goals. Warner can go kick rocks or go Eagles.

18, F1 and Erasmus is good enough for Warner. Throw in Sturt if need be.
As good as Warner is and would love to have him. Good mids are a dime a dozen but good key forwards are hard to find.

What’s the latest today? Been offline all morning.
Trade radio on Twitter seems to think Bolton will be going for 10 and 11 as the main portion of the deal. Ugh

Does anyone else think that the goalposts have been moved to far in regards to the compo picks. Where last week the clubs might have have been close at 10;16 the now 11,18 has got them to far apart. We are also starting to see what other clubs are prepared to pay to get either back into the first round or gain another first round pick ?

Completely. No way another club should suffer because other clubs lose a player to free agency. Stupid system.

Begging Walls to have a spine for once in his life. The campaigners are already getting pick 6 for Rioli, likely first round picks for Baker and Graham. Offer them 10,18 and if they still wanna sook it’s not enough then use the picks on something else.

Everyone can see how in demand 10,11 are. Use it to our advantage

Whilst I agree coming out of trade with 18,24,25 is palatable. We can make further trades to move up.

Also sending 30 to Richmond enables them to use in a trade with WC for 14.

They end up with:
1,6,10,11,14

We might be able to grab a pick in the 40’s for s*#ts and giggles.

If we are genuinely prepared to leave Bolton at Richmond we can do that, otherwise it will be difficult.

Jack Graham is an unrestricted free agent. There is no incentive for west coast to make him one of the top 10% paid in the comp.
He should be band 3 or 4 at the very most.
He’s a fringe mid at the worst side in the league 💁🏻‍♂️

How are we getting 24 and 25 in this scenario?
