I wonder why neither GC nor Port preferred to deal with North. Their first pick next year should be a good one.

If he's unwilling to go there it means nothing.
Port would be crazy to refuse that. I don't think it will happen though.Melb Give/NM Get:
5 & 9
Nm Give/Melb Get:
2 & ?? (What would work here?)
Nm Give/GC Get:
Future First
GC Give/NM Get:
13
North would have 5,9 & 13 and could offer 9 or even 5 for Houston?
If his options are port or north only, he might

Still more realistic than Crazy Leppa's proposalsLoved the Carlton dreams of 12 and 14 for pick 2 or 3. They would need to throw in a decent player to get that done.
By asking about Humphery? Nothing wrong with asking, similar questions are asked about a variety of players every trade period. Pick 12 and 14 for pick 2 on the other hand would be the worst deal ever done.Still more realistic than Crazy Leppa's proposals
I agree with all of this. GCS and Rioli has completely stuffed this trade from occurring by simply not valuing their picks as always. Totally throws fair price out the window for other teams.Gets to Carlton pick 12. Straight swap.
If Carlton aren’t prepared to part with it than they are delusional about ever winning a premiership. Best list in the comp next season.
Port would accept that and if they didn’t they are delusional.
Think GC offering 6 for Rioli is why Port believe they should get more. This is just another case of GC making another terrible trade. Can’t compare.
I think Carlton would give up 12 for Houston if they could then take 14 to the draft. The reports have been however Port want 2 x firsts or 1 top 10 pick. Don't see why they would relent on that given Houston is contracted and apparently willing to stay.Gets to Carlton pick 12. Straight swap.

Surely people have realised this narrative ‘he’s a contracted player’ is rubbish. Port wouldn’t be about to trade him if he was. GC are just a disaster - their pick 13 dealings are equally bizarre. How they didn't give up #13 to the Dees for F1 and 28 is just ridiculous. Dees will get 9 now for a similar package. Saints now offering the Suns their F1 and F2 for #13 and watch them pass it up for an inferior offer.Surely people have realised this narrative ‘he’s a contracted player’ is rubbish. Makes me laugh at how much GC are going to give up for Rioli when Richmond clearly want the pick more than the player.
Correct. I don’t know who runs their list but they’d be by far the most incompetent in the league.GC are just a disaster - their pick 13 dealings are equally bizarre. I have a friend who used to work there and said at the time of the Bowes trade "believe it or not his contract wasn't even the worst we have"Correct. I don’t know who runs their list but they’d be by far the most incompetent in the league.
How was there ever any talk whatsoever of 13 being involved in a deal for Noble? I was bemused he’s worth a third round pick
100%. But Suns get a rare double chance here. Missed the Demons deal and now Saints offering something similar. We will see what happens but you just know they are taking the Noble deal.Correct. I don’t know who runs their list but they’d be by far the most incompetent in the league.

Jack Luko rumoured to be on $1m??I have a friend who used to work there and said at the time of the Bowes trade "believe it or not his contract wasn't even the worst we have"
Sounded like a complete amateur hour circus
So will you do 13 for F1 + Noble? Time is running outBit more coping? The going price seems very reasonable. A little under two first rounders as a total value package but not giving two individual first round picks in it.
Burgoyne looks a talent with great potential. But in that Cats game we’re talking about 9 kicks, 3 intercepts and 2 score involvements. That’s got nothing on peak Houston output. He did much better in the next two games but the Port flag chase was lost in that first week.
Whatever you’re projecting for 2026 is just a hopeful guess. The exact same was said of us in 2021 and look what happened.
Anyway on topic I’m of the opinion that the Pies should pay whatever they can to get Houston. If we come out of a three way deal still with a pick in the late 20s or 30s then we’ve done well. If Port stick to the highest bidder then I don’t think it’s us as we simply don’t have the same capital as North and Carlton.

As far as I know Suns would probably do 13 for F1 + Noble. Only Leppitsch wanted also pick 23 and HumphreyCorrect. I don’t know who runs their list but they’d be by far the most incompetent in the league.

Talk about who’s delusional.Did he really say #13 + #23 + Humphrey ?As far as I know Suns would probably do 13 for F1 + Noble. Only Leppitsch wanted also pick 23 and HumphreyTalk about who’s delusional.
Dodoro the Pies new list boss?Did he really say #13 + #23 + Humphrey ?
Whats Leppa on
I want some

He sugested Humphrey to be involved in pick 13 trade. Details no idea. Suggested deal by Collingwood was/is 13 + 23 for Noble + F1.Did he really say #13 + #23 + Humphrey ?

Your F1 would be about 23 come draft night next year probably. So you rate Noble as pick 13 in a good draft?I’m not in charge of Collingwood trade and list management though it would be an entertaining job if I was ever offered.
I would need very strong reassurance from my draft watchers that next year’s draft talent is very significantly worse than this year’s before I made that move. I know that’s the narrative going around but the above trade is potentially giving Noble for free which feels stupid considering he’s a decent enough player, contracted, great for competitiveness and fits your coach’s preferred game plan.
I’d try to angle for F1, Noble, 52, 55 <> 13, 23, F3. Someone with a calculator would have to check me on points but in principle I’d try to make it work for both parties in terms of academies and f/s points (McGuane)
