Not really. If the Saints offer overs (what it would take given Kemp is contracted and the last day of trade) then we would take it (assuming Kemp agrees to go).

Hit outs, hit out to advantage & effective clearance are all very different things.
Winning the tap means exactly nothing if u don’t get an effective clearance.
Taps won means less than nothing, we often won clearance and still couldn’t make it effective a lot of the time.
JSOS more than holds his own when significantly outsized.

That hasn’t been our attitude - but it would have to be one hell of a deal for him.
We are not giving up or chasing pieces for anything other than a bloody good deal.

No. Austin is being aggressive and open to anything that will improve our list.

If a club is prepared to pay overs for a player like Kemp we should consider it. Highly unlikely but we should listen to offers

IN: Pick 4 (2034) + Pick 25 (756) = 2790

ADELAIDE:
OUT: Pick 4 (2034) + F3 (347) = 2381
IN: Pick 3 (2234) + F4 (112) = 2346

WB:
OUT: Daniel (556) = 556
IN: Kennedy (556) = 556

North Melbourne:
OUT: Pick 25 (756) + F4 (112) = 868
IN: Daniel (556) + F3 (347) = 903

It's somewhat difficult to project exactly where a future pick would come, so I just based it off each team giving up the 9th pick of the specified round.

Also not 100% sure how high Daniel is rated, but seems like around the mark based on some other trade scenarios I've seen floated around.

In this scenario, we would be able to maximize return for MK by getting another pick (hopefully) ahead of the BC bid. Adelaide move up a spot and snag Draper, while we would still have access to one of Smith/Lalor/FOS (all potential #1 picks). Bulldogs straight swap makes sense. North Melbourne get Daniel for the equivalent of Pick 33 which, as mentioned above, I think is probably around the mark.

If we did fair value has zero to do with any trade we agree to IMHO.

I think we have maybe 7 or 8 players who we should consider untouchable. Kemp isn't one of those.

The fair value on a contracted player that we're not keen on trading is on the very high side of fair (actually it's unfair) so I see nothing wrong with listening to any offers on him or anyone else outside that 8.

I really like the aggression we've seen in this trade period.

They’ve definitely given the list a strong shake by the shoulders - Kemp traded would be an added back-hand across the face, as a follow up.

I’d want a whole lot of “unfair” for Kemp.

Our current list can get us there. Our gameplan/coaches/high perf cant until they change it up. Hopefully this year.

our game plan is fine. Some people very underrate our game plan. If we simply won all the games that were under a goal this season then we would have been top 4. We were never out of any game this season when we had our near-best team. We were top 4 for a lot of the year and had injuries all season. Even though we had injuries and constant lineup changes we kept getting wins for most of the season. You can only do that if you have a very good game plan in place. Since Voss has been with us we have found ways to win many games after we had injuries. We even won games when our defence was depleted. You only win games like that because it is system over personnel. Ross Lyon used to make deep finals runs because of that. What we need to do though is take our chances in front of the goals. Kicking goals changes people's thoughts about game plans. You can only plan to set up the shots. You can't plan to kick the goal..........that is up to the player.

95 per cent of players are like that. Jack doesn't always make the smartest play. He tries to dodge when he forgets he isn't quick and he loves kicking off one step even though it isn't a great action. He will compete as hard as he can.

Agree. As highly as Kemp may be rated, he is still not guaranteed a spot in that forward line, which is where we seem to want him playing. Sos would know this.

With the 2 talls, EH, at least a couple of smalls, then the running types like Doc/Cotts, there is not a lot of room. Particularly if Moir grabs his chances. I can't see us playing H, Charlie, Kemp and Moir together.

Saints are not getting him with what they currently have, so they need to get creative. Either move up by combining 32 and 45 and whatever else, or split 8 and come up with something around 20.

Entire culture is built on woe is me, David vs Goliath, sticking it up the big VIC clubs and the AFL. They're just a pathetic organization.

Why should we be interested in what is fair value? He is contracted, has played 80% of games in the last two years, and Saints have come knocking at the last minute. Fair value wouldn't cut it if I was making the decision, we should only listen to something that makes us better.
