For those playing along at home;

I spoke to IT as well who also has issues with this colleague.

He has said she has literally hid under the library desk (she's 50 mind you), to avoid being seen so she can keep talking.

I was gobsmacked.

Was probably hide and seek champion at some point in her life

Going on a work tangent but I run my own race - have things setup how I like to do them (sticking with company guidelines overall but I've worked out short cuts that help me get things done faster).

I tend to power through the early part of the day. Purely so I can do a "victory lap" - meaning work slower as my main work is done. That said if I do get things done early, I'm usually setting up my work load for the following day - whether it's just laying out a schedule... or actually starting the next days work an hour or 2 before I leave.

I help out others where I can. But the favour is rarely returned.

When I go on leave I come back to work that needs to be caught up on. I miss the days where people's time off was covered. I'm currently on leave now (and posting on BF, woo hoo!!), essentially for the month.... I'll be welcomed back with a backlog of at least 3.5 weeks to catch up on. I'll be caught up (doing the older stuff concurrently with the current week) within 2-3 weeks. But it shouldn't happen at all. Out of 25 days that I had off last year, my workload was focused on for just 2 of them.

Seems like shes coming out of retirement?

I'm going to gun for the title

Yesterday was in an airport lounge. people who facetime without the use of earphones. Can hear everything. If you dare look in that direction, YOU look like the bag person.

Others who speak loudly in said lounge

forgot to mention. facetimer facetiming who i assume is his partner. she started singing step by step. wtf.
if that wasnt enough, they start discussing previous conversations, disagreeing with who said good night first.

Uber Eats. Ordered food tonight, dropped off at the wrong address with no photo attached. The lucky part was the owner of the house put it straight onto our little community page on facebook and I saw it within 5 mins. (Couple streets over)

Then it got better, I requested a refund and It was the most easiest process I've ever had. You just click on "food not delivered then it gives you the option for app credit or refund. So I got my din dins and money back with a slight inconvenience of a 2min drive.

Not sure if this belongs in this thread or not but it did shit me that they can't read a GPS

I used to use Menulog. My apartment building has two doors (I am not via the main entrance) and 99% of the time I got a phone call saying where are you. Stupidest thing ever- one time I had to run after the guy who was leaving with the food.

I found a simple solution
I don't use Menulog anymore :)

It shits me when I have an issue with some organisation, send them a detailed / hopefully well thought out email expressing various concerns about the issue and their response is

1 No response until they are chased up
2 Answer without addressing my points of concern and / or
3 Glibly comment that their decision is final / no further discussion will be entered into

Seems like they have been reading the same book about how to deal with troublesome people who disagree with them. Shows lack of empathy and respect to me and lack of care about the issues in question.

Air New Zealand lounges used to have a "no phones" section, what a great concept. Some w***ers just choose to ring everyone they know during lounge time rather than just chilling.

And anyone who uses speaker phone in public for a call or music should be shot. Well maybe a bit over the top but it really shits me.

The coorporate world has figured out that they just don’t have to do anything as far as follow up customer service and they will get away with it
It’s easier for them to ignore and send a few deflecting emails than follow up properly and rectify a situation
They work on the fact that most people don’t have time to pursue these things so the harder the corporates make the process the less likely they’ll have to deal with it
It’s quite sad and incredibly frustrating really

They are rarely ever going to respond to a first enquiry.

You just lodge it.

If they don't respond or the response is crap, escalate a complaint and ask for a reference number.

If they don't do shit from there, straight to the ombudsman, it is the only time they will care.

i mean, if youre on facetime for the world to see and hear, wouldnt you feel ill at ease? like do you want others seeing who youre talking to especially if theres a bit of spice to the convo?

I mean absolutely, I don't even like taking phone calls in public places if I can avoid it, maybe I (and you) are the weird ones.

Like many of the first Walkman generation my hearing is a bit crap, turns out feeding loud music straight into your ears is bad for your hearing after all and I find background noise makes it hard for me to talk on the phone outside.

Yep. Headphones, a Metallica concert with no earplugs and 8 years on a minesite have ensured that even in the quietest moments I can still clearly hear EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
