Toast 2025 Post-Goal Player Songs

Based on the Collingwood game at Giants Stadium today, it looks like you guys have implemented what we have for home games on the GC this year and that is post-goal songs for individual players like the Brisbane Lions have been doing for a few years now (e.g. Country Roads for Charlie Cameron). Below is a list of player songs that I noticed during today's game. Should be interesting to follow this throughout the year and see what songs other players have chosen/been given. Let me know if you notice any others throughout the season and I'll update the OP or a mod on your board can update the OP if they like.

I felt the same way when I heard some of our players' songs two weeks ago. It's like some of them don't understand how important it is to have a song that the crowd can engage with/sing along with/dance to. You want it to add to the atmosphere after a goal, not take away from it.

I think simplicity but upbeat is key.

yes then there's the announcement who scored the goal

either do the announcement or song but maybe both is too much.

I believe they've changed it this year. We're running with individual songs now. I did hear one or two trumpets after goals, but I think they might be trying to phase it out.

Same sound, very upbeat, I think it's fine and quite enjoy that tune.

Brisbane kicked it off in 2022. GWS adopted the same at the beginning of last year (I don't think it was in 2023) but they didn't announce it or anything until Callum Brown kicked four and everyone went WTF.

The guys really have overdone the electronica/dance music though - the real point is to get the crowd involved, but when it's just a beat unless it's something novel like Brown, the majority won't really get up with it.

It's made me appreciate there must be someone exercising creative control over the Lions though, because I doubt the players have that different tastes.

Defs had it all last year. I'm wondering if it came in late in 23, because I recall Hogan kicking 9 against Essendon, and hearing Can't Stop by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers that many times. I reckon it will be the same this year.

Some players have updated, others seem to have stayed the same.

Brown's song is this - Hechizeros Band - El Sonidito (better known to some as the Taxi Song from Grand Theft Auto 5).

Murder on the Dancefloor is top tier, almost wasted on Slammer, but then, if he's kicking goals, it is Murder on the Dancefloor.

Toby's last year was the Macarina, but I didn't catch what it was.

they were definitely playing goal songs in 2023, but may not have been official.

The snippet that played sounded pretty shit to me, but as someone else pointed out, the announcers were sounding muffled so maybe the music was being distorted in the area I was sitting.
