Okay so selection day.

I want to see.

Out: Edwards and Caldwell

In: Davey and Johnson

Sub: Davey

Then get creative with midfield minutes.

Merrett, Hobbs, Shiel, Durham, Martin, Kako and Johnson to rotate through the middle at times.

Davey was pretty poor in the VFL last week. I would like to see him play but I could not entertain it off his two VFL games so far.

While I agree I also think Davey is one who will always look better at AFL level due to pace.

I mainly brought him in to play the sub so El-Hawli could move into the starting lineup. Otherwise I am bringing Tsatas in and moving Menzie to the sub role which I think imbalances us.

Would rather give Johnson or Day-Wicks the sub role and I am not a fan of debuting as the sub.
For me it send a pretty poor message to select a guy that has missed a lot of pre season and not done a lot in the VFL.

Also do not see how Davey does better at AFL level. He played up the ground last week and hardly had a touch. He can easily chase and pressure at VFL level but it was not there last week.

Looks obvious that we’re not getting any debut’s this week seeing they normally announce it beforehand. Would suggest it’ll be Perkins, Tsatas coming straight back in.

Setterfield could also be a chance if we choose to make a 3rd change.

I've got the feeling setters, goldy and lav are in the break in case of emergency depth group now.

TBH would be pretty happy if that’s the case.
I’d prefer younger options getting a game and priority with key roles, although Setterfield is the one that I believe still can offer something of value in the short-term

Agreed, I think it just comes down to concerns around his durability.

Yep that's fair enough.

Either way an academic conversation as we all know it will be Perkins and Tsatas in.
