Played some good footy, but ultimately lost......again.

LDU excellent.

Colby needs a spell.
Unfortunately, playing 2.2 quarters of good footy will gloss over how utterly soul-destroyingly dumb some of our decisions were and how lazy our players can be.

The defenders should be demanding apologies from the midfield today.

Nice of the club to give Aidan Corr a farewell game.

Game was won and lost in the defensive pressure and intensity and we carried way too many soft players who refuse to tackle and refuse to chase hard.

I'm talking about guys like McKercher, Duursma, Stephens, Fisher, and Tucker. But it also applies to guys like Sheezel and Larkey too, although they obviously contribute in other ways.

Want some evidence to support this claim? Between Duursma/Fisher/McKercher/Tucker/Comben/Larkey/Hardeman/Corr/Konstanty we had a combined FOUR tackles. Four total tackles combined between nine players. Now, it's a little unfair admittedly to include Hardeman as the sub, but still...

It's unacceptable. It's a question of effort and general 'give a shit' factor.

McKercher was particularly egregious today and is surely getting dropped to the VFL next week. Absolutely cannot reward him with another AFL game until he demonstrates a willingness to put his body on the line.

Logue was poor to start the game but worked his way into it slowly. I'd still probably drop him for Pink, personally (all accusations of bias aside).

Comben is a poor KPD and gives away far too many dumb free kicks. It's frustrating beyond belief.

After reading the game day thread for the last quarter I'll be in the minority with this.

I thought we were really good on the whole and I feel positive after that. Up until the last 2 minutes of the 3rd, we were the better team, and had we had the rub of the umpire green and made the most of our chances in the 1st, we could have won.

We have improved significantly from last year and things are moving in the right direction. A lot to like from both the older guys we brought in (thought all of Parker, Darling and Daniel were really good) as well as younger guys. Also amazing what happens when you bring in a genuine pressure small like JK and some good ball use and run off the back flank in Daniel and FO'S.

Mckercher was horrible. Logue cost us 2-3 goals in the first half and Simpkin's turnover in the 4th was an absolute killer.

I'm a Zurhaar critic but thought it was his best game of the season - really good balance of defensive pressure and intensity and also polish on the attacking end.

We'll beat Carlton by 5 goals next week.

No wonder we’re after Maynard. Our general defenders are non existent.

Fisher - 1/5 as a defender
Daniel - 1/5
FOS - 2/5
Tucker - 2/5
McDonald - 2.5/5
Archer - 3/5

Then we have McKercher, Hardeman etc. who float through there. Again, not exactly strong defenders.

As soon as the ball hits the ground we have no ability to defend.

Disastrous , no other side plays this many slow footballers, no other club .

We have not improved at all. We have yet again missed the memo on what is required for a modern day footballer.

No need to dissect the game, it's the same issue every week. We get blown off the park by the oppositions run. We haven't the legs to push up or back. Tall players today need to be mobile. Logue is only 194cm plays like a 198cm early 90s ruck.

It's actually now funny. We have no idea the type of player to draft

Almost as if choosing blokes to play there that can’t do the job is a one way ticket to oblivion.

Like your optimism but one of the worse teams than us is playing them into form
