Wonder if big Tobias likes Perth weather? From what I’ve been told we are preparing for Reid to request us but getting the pieces is going to be a battle. But a a request is now expected. So the scramble is already beginning, not sure where we find pieces to satisfy by that’s the mission.
Also, we still like the idea of JUH if he’s cheap. Very cheap. His antics probably helping this cause lol.
I can live without JUH regardlessI can live without JUH if we can somehow get hold of Reid.
Really? What info has this guy got correct? It is 99.5% crap but historically the guy who dropped this is consistently in the 0.5%
Anyone else says it I wouldn't give it any thought

Steady on mate, we don't want them to rebuild that quickRather than trade players or high draft picks to West Coast, we could in good faith have Mackie & Wellsy do their recruiting for them for 2 or 3 seasons to help them out but only after they've finished doing ours.... na that's being too generous.
I think it should have Bullsh!t in it as welleh, it's this thread, it has rumours in the title
that is next to impossible wihtout moving one or two established players. not worth it imo.

Both he and Geelong are very into each other.
It’s interesting all this talk about trading him has come out today as well. It makes sense. I’ve heard nothing about us moving Conway but it does align with the idea of us finding assets urgently.Wonder if big Tobias likes Perth weather?
Surely Conway's value would be a drop in the ocean when it comes to trading for Reid. It’s interesting all these talk about trading him has come out today as well. It makes sense. I’ve heard nothing about us moving Conway but it does align with the idea of us finding assets urgently.

I think we can offer... not saying we do, not saying WC would accept. How do you rate the likelihood of us closing the deal, from what you've heard?
Any indication of how much we'll have to give up?
Do the rules allow us to trade that many future picks?I think we can offer... not saying we do, not saying WC would accept.
3x R1s + 2x R2s
This years - R1 + R2
2026 - R1
2027 - R1 + R2
I'm being greedy holding onto our R3s.... WC would prob also ask for them even though they are trashola picks anyway.
Was unsure and still kinda am... but ShadowCat pulled up an AFL article from the AFL website I think stating yes about a week ago.Do the rules allow us to trade that many future picks?
Fixed it for you

Rules changed according to AFL website article ShadowCat posted.Where are we acquiring the additional 2027 round 1 or round 2 picks from?
Unless they change the rules, if you trade a future first round pick then your other first round picks are off limits, or if you trade a future second to fourth round picks then your future first is off limits - unless you trade in additional picks to cover what you wish to trade out
We only have to go back to 2022 to see a clear example of that in effect when the multi-team mega trade with JH-F going to Port - during negotiations, Port reached out to the AFL to seek permission to trade both their future R1 & R2 picks as part of the deal and were told nope
While the final agreed trade did see Port trade both their future R1 & R2, a difference between the earlier scenario is that they got a future R2 back from GWS
TouchéFixed THAT for you. Ironically I FTFY

But as I say... It has been talked about so little, I'm still not sure it's true... even though I read it with my own eyes.
An ocean is made of dropsSurely Conway's value would be a drop in the ocean when it comes to trading for Reid.
Under the changes, clubs will be able to trade their full suite of picks 1 year ahead with restrictions applying to the second year of trading that previously applied to the trading of picks one year ahead
If we apply that to trading this year, it would basically mean:
- 2025 draft hand, fully tradeable
- 2026 draft hand, fully tradeable
- 2027 draft hand, restricted to either R1 keeping R2 & R3, or if trading R2 and/or R3 you have to keep R1
I thought R4 had previously counted in future trading but maybe not
For example this season, clubs will be able to trade their 2025 picks and all of their 2026 picks, but then have to carry their 2027 second and third-round selections to trade that year's first-round pick, or to trade out their 2027 second and third-round picks, they need to retain that year's first-round pick.
The AFL has kept its 'two-in-four' condition to future trading, meaning clubs must use at least two first-round picks over a rolling four-year period to be able to trade out their future first-round selections.

So Reid would be our highest paid player? Could ruffle some feathers internally. Can't see him leaving half mil on the table to play for us. Don't think we have enough depth to miss out on 3 years of drafting. This is going to make or break us.
