Yes Charlie I know I'm running behind schedule

Happy Friday nerds, time to knock out a couple of rounds worth of free kick goodness. Let's go back... way back... back a couple of weeks:

1741306399362.png

The Hawks have continued their perfect start to the season. Well it's the opposite of perfect from a qooty perspective but they're four and zip as far as free kicks go after beating the Wonders 18-16. The Dragons are the other unbeaten team, overcoming the Royals 14-13 for their second win to go with a draw and a bye. In between the Hawks and Drags on the ladder are the Bears, Demons & Roys who all had wins in round four, over the Warriors (17-8), Furies (22-19) & Gumbies (19-11) respectively. The other game saw the Bombers down the Old Boys 18-17 to jump into mid-table mediocrity. Finally the bye was not a friend to the Sin Citizens as it saw them drop to sixth place on the ladder.

The Spoons are looking like this:

1741306945926.png

Given their perfect start it's no wonder that two Hawks are in the top five for the Little Spoon. PhenomenalV1 still leads the way on 18 kicks after receiving four in round four, as did Scythe94 who is tied in fifth place on 14 kicks alongside Giant YoYo from the Wonders. In between them are Irish BlueBagger who got six frees for in round four to jump to second place, one ahead of cats_09 and Crimson Azure who received five and one free respectively.

1741307190500.png

Disgruntled Gumby GWS Goose was at his generous best in round four, giving away four free kicks to rise to the Big Spoon lead. He's two kicks ahead of grumbleguts and nobbyiscool who share second place, one kick ahead of a six pack of campaigners in Braklet Dinsdale norway blue Phar Ace sante & Tigerturbulance

I'll be back momentarily to tell you about round five...

Although nobody was brave enough to ask, people still wondered where the head stopped and the ball started

...and as threatened, here's the skinny on what the qumpires did in round five.

1741309977533.png

Well nerds it happened again. The Hawks lost another game of qooty but won the free kick count. In a battle of the undefeated teams (it may have also been a grand final rematch but who cares about that here), they thrashed the Dragons 18-10 to retain their perfect record and their Silver Whistle lead. The Bears are still sitting in their slipstream, as a 21-18 win over the Bombers see them retain second spot. The Swamprats regained the ground they lost in their round four bye thanks to a close-ass 12-11 win over the Demons to overtake them into third place.

In other results the Roys suffered a shock 11-12 loss to the OOFs, the Gumbies beat the Wonders 16-15 to consign the previously-located West Coast franchise to a 0-4 start to the season and the Furies & Warriors played out an entertaining 18 all draw which was enough to see both teams draw two points clear of the bye-having Royals.

The individual races look like this:

running.gif

Sorry, wrong graphic.

1741310595579.png

Previous Little Spoon leader PhenomenalV1 managed to get a big fat doughnut in round five, allowing the Dork from Cork Irish BlueBagger to take the lead thanks to five frees for, which was the same amount of frees that cats_09 received to earn themselves second place. BloodySwan also received a Michelle from the qumpires to join Phenom in third place on 18 frees, two ahead of the following folk: Giant YoYo Pamcake1 (who received six frees) royboy2 Scythe94 and oldmate.

1741310867840.png

GWS Goose laid a golden egg in round five, however a lack of pressure from below enabled him to retain his Big Spoon lead. Fellow Gumby nobbyiscool and gorilla biscuit Phar Ace are tied in second place one kick behind, while another six people are a kick further back in equal fourth including Barrybran Braklet dogs105 grumbleguts philreich & sante (the Emu War never ended it seems).

And that's this thread up to date for now. Who knows when I'll update it next, but rest assured you will receive mild entertainment. Until then...

Not me running behind on a thread again. Let's get stuck into it.

1742512826203.png

The Hawks keep on keeping on in round six, maintaining their perfect record thanks to a resounding 21-11 win over the Royals, a result which was enough to see them win their first qooty match as well. The Bears are hot on their heels, taking down the Roys 18-12 to sit in second place with a 5-0-1 record, while a 19-15 victory over the Warriors has the Sin Citizens in third place. The Dragons are half a game further back in fourth thanks to their 16-13 win over the Gumbies, the bye saw the Demons drop two spots, while the Furies were the big risers with a three spot jump to seventh after edging the Bombers 25-23 and the Wonders notched their first victory of the season - a 21-19 win over the Old Boys.

1742513886858.png

Ophidian spice bag merchant Irish BlueBagger maintained his Little Spoon lead with a five free kick effort in round six, but the challengers are coming.

Nine frees Tonga Bob, the little spoon is mine :sneaky:

The number one contender is this guy. A heroically proportioned nine frees for has Scythe94 one kick adrift of the lead, while Pamcake1 picked up a half dozen to sit in third. cats_09 has slipped off the pace thanks to a solitary free in round six to now sit in fourth, while PhenomenalV1 & royboy2 round out the top five.

1742514352389.png

There's a new sheriff in the Big Spoon Saloon, as Bomber rookie WAbulldog conceded five frees in round six to take a one kick lead from Barrybran and Phar Ace who gave away three & two frees respectively. Former leader GWS Goose was not up in arms or wings or whatnot and did not concede a free, seeing the Gumbie drop to equal fourth place alongside grumbleguts Orange crush and Piggy Smalls

So that's round six in the book. What about round seven?

[Qootyball Leviosa]

This is what.

1742516141744.png

The only thing stopping the East Siders from winning a qooty count is the bye, so they retain their perfect record for another week. The Bears were unable to match their points total after a surprise draw with the Wonders 11-11, a result which saw the formerly West Coast located franchise rise from the bottom of the ladder for the first time in five rounds. Meanwhile the Swamprats tightened their grip on bronze after beating the Bombers 11-6, the Dees were too good for the Warriors thanks to an 11-9 win to rise to fourth, the Furies overcame the Roys 25-22 in a highly officiated match, the Ophidians scaled the Dragons 16-13 and it was the Royals' turn for a win, defeating the Gumbies 18-13 much to the relief of GreyCrow.

As for the solo gear:

1742517008437.png

Another four frees to Irish BlueBagger saw him extend his Little Spoon lead to five, as previous challengers Scythe94 had a bye and Pamcake1 had a doughnut. cats_09 was another to take advantage with four frees of their own to join Scythe in second place, while Warrior potato spudmaster also claimed four frees to join Pam in equal fourth.

1742517244506.png

Meanwhile two free kicks was enough to see WAbulldog retain the Big Spoon lead. Orange crush and Phar Ace are now tied in second after conceding three and two frees respectively, while Barrybran and DERRINALPHIL are one kick further back in equal fourth place.

And with that we are back up to date. Now what else do I need to catch up on???

"It's fun to stay at the..."

Happy Friday nerds, time to once again talk about the free kick thing. Here's what's shaking...

View attachment 2231602

The Swamprats and the Demons lost their first free kick counts for season 39, doing down 10-15 to the Furies and 6-13 to the Bears respectively. This means that the East Siders have the only perfect record after three rounds after they knockd off the Roys 17-15. The Dragons are still undefeated as well with a win, a draw and a bye for their efforts. The Royals jumped a bunch of spots after their first win of the season as it was a huge one, 24-12 over the winless Wonders. Elsewhere the Old Boys pipped the Warriors 2-20 and the Gumbies also got their first win of the season thanks to a 18-15 win over the Bombers.

The Sinners, the Furies & the Vegans are the three teams where the qooyt & free kick results have matched each other, while the Warriors and Hawks are the only two teams where every qooty result has been different to the free kick result.

The Bears & Royals are getting the rub of the qumpiring green at home while the Wonders & OOFs cop it from officialdom at the Colosseum & Spotswood respectively. The Bears, Swamprats & Royals are making the most of favourable qumpiring while the Warriors are motching qooty wins in spite of suspect officiating, and the Hawks are squandering their chances to convert favour from the qumps with winning qooty games.

As for the Spoons...

Royal Crimson Azure was a direct beneficiary of the good fortune the qumpires gave his team, picking up seven frees for to join Hawk all-rounder PhenomenalV1 atop the Little Spoon standings on 14 kicks each. They are three ahead of Swamprat BloodySwan and another who got seven frees for in Warrior spudmaster, while the trio of cats_09 Irish BlueBagger & Scythe94 are all a further kick behind the Swan and the spud.

On the other side of the competition we have a three way tie for the Big Spoon lead, with last week's leader grumbleguts being joined by Gumby returnee nobbyiscool & The Scandinavian Bomber norway blue all on eight frees against. Four people are a conceded kick behind the leading trinity - eth-dog GWS Goose Phar Ace & Piggy Smalls.

Riveting as heck aye. Well hold on to that excitement like it's a goal post as we will take a look at round 4 an about a week's time.

He was looking for a banana at the top of the post, Bobby.

Multiple rounds (therefore multiple qumpires) incoming. I blame the bye for this.

1743642893861.png

Hawks won ANOTHER free kick count, 18-13 against the Gumbies this time. The Vegans remain second after beating the Dragons 16-9, the Swamprats dropped ground on the top 2 after losing 10-13 to the Roys, the Delons did the Bombers also 13-10, the Old Boys nudged aside the Gold Citizens 15-14 and the Wonders continued their rise after beating the Furies 19-13.

1743643126200.png

Irish BlueBagger only got one free in round 8, which allowed Scythe94 to jump to the Little Spoon lead thanks to a magnificent seven. cats_09 remains in third place three kicks back from the Hawk, while fitzroybowiedog joins Pamcake1 in equal fourth spot.

1743643273774.png

We have a tie atop the Big Spoon leader board, with Orange crush joining WAbulldog on 15 frees against. DERRINALPHIL and Phar Ace are one kick back in equal third, and Barrybran Braklet Dingster & grumbleguts round out the top five a further kick behind.

1743643539672.png

A wall of qumpires now take us to round 9.

1743644437300.png

Absolute carnage as a round of upsets saw the top three teams lose and the bottom team win.

The Hawks' perfect run ended with a 17-20 loss to the Ophidians, the Bears lost for the first time since round 2 thanks to a 14-15 defeat at the hands of the Royals, the Swamprats lost a second game on the trot, this time 14-15 to the resurgent Wonders to drop to fourth, overtaken by the Demons who beat the Roys 17-15, the Warriors leap off the bottom after dealing with the Bombers 14-10 and the Dragons pipped the Furies 9-8 in what looked to be a free for all.

1743644736863.png

Irish BlueBagger got another four frees to retake the Little Spoon lead from Scythe94 who could only get one. Pamcake1 joins cats_09 in third as the Gumbies had a bye, and her teammate Giant YoYo joins the top five on 26 frees for.

1743644900697.png

Phar Ace did an Everton in round 9 and kicked a bunch of opponents to jump to the Big Spoon lead with four frees against. WAbulldog gave away two to sit alone in second place, two ahead of the doughnutted Orange crush while the top five is rounded out by DERRINALPHIL Dingster and grumbleguts all of whom are on 14 conceded frees.

Until next time nerds...

"Ayyyyyyy!!!"

Hey nerds, let's talk free kicks.

1744432768394.png

The por_please_ya Cup saw the top two teams play out a 15-all draw to retain their places atop the free kick ladder. The Deez join the Vegans on 28 points thanks to a monster 20-11 win over the Wonders, the Swamprats defeated the Dragons 11-9, the Ophidians consigned the Gumbies to the foot of the table with a 24-16 victory, while the Royals and the Warriors both jumped up the ladder with one kick wins over the Furies (14-13) and the Roys (15-14) respectively. And the Bombers had the bye.

As for the Spoons...

1744433437909.png

The top four of the Little Spoon remain unchanged. Irish BlueBagger continued his charmed run with another five frees to now sit three clear of Scythe who got four frees. cats_09 is four behind the Hawk thanks to five of their own, Pamcake1 managed three frees to be a further two kicks behind, and a familiar name (to me at least) enters the top five.

1744433651577.png

The Bomber bye saw Phar Ace double their Big Spoon lead from one to two from WAbulldog. Dingster and Orange crush are in equal third on 16 conceded frees, while Supercheapgiants finds themselves in fifth place, four frees off the lead.

Seeya next week!

[And you thought dabbing was dead!]

Hey there nerds and nerdettes, let's do some free kick madness.

1745129118252.png

Eleven out of thirteen teams remained in the same position on the free kick table from last week, but hoboy the change that did happen!

For the first time since round two, the East Side Hawks are not on top of the ladder! An 11-14 loss to the Furies, coupled with the Bears beating the Gumbies 12-10, saw the Vegans reach the summit after being in second place for eight rounds. Huge news indeed! Other results saw the Demons miss the chance to go second after losing to the Dragons 10-18, the Swamrats and the Royals play out a 15-all draw, the Roys defeated the Bombers 24-23 and the Warriors trounced the Wonders 17-9.

As for the individual gongs...

1745129824865.png

The Old Boys had the bye in round 11, so the Little Spoon lead that Irish BlueBagger enjoyed was in jeopardy. The luck of the Irish shone on the Corkman though, as Scythe could only manage one free kick to reduce the lead from three to two. Three kicks further behind sit Pamcake1 and your host (me) who gained four & six frees respectively, while cats_09 sits in fifth place after also getting a solitary free kick.

1745130175616.png

Three of last week's Big Spoon top five in Phar Ace Orange crush & Dingster picked up doughnuts in round 11, the latter due to the bye and the others due to being too nice. This cost the Roy the lead, as the four frees against that WAbulldog received sees the Bomber take a two kick lead. Meanwhile his teammate BoozedUP conceded five frees to sit in third place.

Seeya next week nerds.

[Special guest qumpire in round 12 was oldmate from Rosehaven]

Surprise nerds, I'm coming at you fast with a midweek free kick expose. Lesssgo!

1745389850698.png

The ladder-leading Bears are taking advantage of not having a bye yet but cementing their Silver Whistle lead. This week they beat the OOFs 12-9. Second placed East Side dropped a further two points behind thanks to an 18-all draw with the Swamprats, while the Demons remained in fourth with an 18-15 win over the Royals. The big movers in round 12 were the Warriors who beat the Dragons 16-13, their fourth on the trot. And at the bottom of the table the Gumbies upset the Furies 16-15 to rise off the bottom of the ladder at the expense of the Bombers who lost to the Wonders 11-15.

Now for the Spoons...

1745390522161.png

Another doughnut for Irish BlueBagger saw Scythe return to the top of the Little Whistle standings, his four frfees sees him take a one kick lead. Gold City stalwart Cadsky picked up a Michelle to jump into third place, one ahead of Pamcake1 & two ahead of cats_09 who both received two frees each.

1745390698444.png

The front two in the Big Spoon in WAbulldog & Phar Ace failed to trouble the qumpires in round 12, however they still retain their quinella. BoozedUP remains in third after conceding one free, but has been joined by ossie_21 who gave up three frees, and the two frees against from ossie's teammate Supercheapgiants sees them rounding out the top 5.

Tight races in all three awards as we steam into the final third of the season. Stay tuned for more of this banality.
