Hi Im a Freo supporter here but Ive come in peace. Considering no commentator mentioned it Im just here in case you're unaware tonight Wayne Milera played against his nephew Isiah Dudley. In fact Milera played directly on Isiah at times and an uncle playing on the nephew wouldn't have happened many times in afl history. Anyway. Good luck for the rest of the year.

blessings upon you, little trivia goblin

Bonus Friday Fun Facts with Grotto.

Keays has kicked a goal in 16 consecutive matches for the Crows.

The Footy Gods, weaponized my Fun Facts (it was even mentioned during Keays shot at goal too) and used it to hurt me.

Yep and nicks was matched up against one of his daddy’s again in Longmuir and came up short again.

Another pet hate of mine is our dropping off when standing the mark. We do it too often, and then open up gaps by not forcing a kick over the actual mark. I think you're far better off getting in the kickers face the majority of the time. The other sides do it to us and we kick these horrible helicopter kicks to no-one, and are thus neutralised moving fwd (e.g. Dawson). I'm not saying to do it every time, but we never do it and I think this is a mistake - despite the ability for players to run around the player on the mark. IMHO it presents too easy a kick for the opposition.

TBH most teams do it, it's a ridiculous thing to have to do.

Nicks in his presser;

“They were on, we were off. it’s hard to win over here”

FMD, you can’t make this shit up
Anyone remind him it's his job to make sure the players are on!

Prophetic unfortunately....
Yeah. I double-jinxed them in tipping the Crows by --- get this --- 40 points!! :laughv1:  :poov1:.

(I see you've rather wisely avoided repeating your "Nicks is a good Coach" comment from before in the GBU thread.
You nearly, n-e-a-r-l-y, converted me to the possibility that he might come good this year but he showed his true colours ---a white flag --- again yesterday :sadv1:).

A leopard cant change its spots. The only difference was we had a squad good enough to take us up a level and we thought that it would wall paper over the cracks that is Nicks coaching. Nicks was never going to get better, Just Davis and Blight were going to put more accountability measures in place which means Nicks lives and dies by his decision making and well frankly you would have to conclude he is drowning fast.

Since the Essendon game, we have been average, not winning many in game key metrics and have not played convincing at all. The Geelong game we played well for a half but couldnt maintain it. Brings huge question marks over our coaching group.

I thought it was nonsense
no its not.

Think about it. Its a saying relating to whats a trend and whats just an occurrence. He just used the saying as the metaphor.

So in this case, Nicks.

If Nicks was constantly winning, winning well and coaching well but had the odd loss, we can say we got out coached and out played in that game but its not a trend.

Because Nicks is consistently losing and losing the coaching battle nearly every game he coaches, then its fairly and squarely a Nicks problem and its a trend. Hence the saying.
