Wonder how many promises Albo will worm his way out of
His past Murray darling water policies and promises will solely destroy the country . Taking water out of the countries most productive growing area for the purpose of putting it out to sea is moronic .
City don’t understand the implications but it has and will continue to see grocery bills quadruple .

problem is main opposition are gimps that have offered nothing. not hard to see why people are thinking **** it will just keep the same blokes in
Bingo

Cause of the mess across global politics people want to keep things stable at home

Definitely worried about the cost of living, I'm on a good wage but since my wife lost hours at work we've been struggling big time

Very similar to Canada
After seeing what has happened in the USA the vast majority aren’t satisfied with that conservative pitch that the libs ran with

Instead people want to keep some “normality” domestically in what will be a turbulent time globally due to trump

Libs really attached themselves to the wrong horse this cycle
USA will increase their position within the world under trump. Don’t like his arrogance but he is solely projecting USA’s financial position and stability which will project them for generations .
Prosperity and financial security is in primary production and manufacturing .

Dutton and Taylor would be last of the faces from the Abbott-Morrison era so time for a rebuild. I hope it's not Taylor, too much baggage and they need to gain ground in threes years and IMO need someone completely different and back them in as opposition leader for two terms like Abbott. I think someone like Andrew Hastie who might not have broad appeal but would go a long way to consolidate the vote that is being stripped by meme parties on the right. If James Paterson were in the lower house rather than the senate I could see someone like him being put forward for a new rebranded Liberal party.

Keating once described Abbott as. “young fogey” and this is what I see when I look at someone like James Patterson. The trouble for the Liberals is that they offer nothing to young people. Worse, they run appalling (young) candidates like Amelia Hamer, who run around pretending to be a poor renter when they’re the beneficiary of a $20 million family trust.

That’s his plan but we are yet to see any significant gains and implementation of said plans to try and bring manufacturing back to the US

They still can’t really compete with the sheer difference in labor costs that countries like China, India and Vietnam can leverage to always be competitive price wise even with the tariffs

Will be interesting to see how it plays out either way and how that ripples across global politics at the end of his term

The shit thing is even the majority of Coalition voters dislike/disagree with Trump. He spoke out once against both Trump's treatment of Ukraine and the blanket tariffs on Australia and I was disappointed he didn't do enough to distance himself. To be fair Albanese hasn't said much with any sort of strong conviction either about Trump and the US but he had the luxury of not being associated.

Absolutely
That’s the thing
Australian conservatives and US conservatives are very different equations but as you said the assumption and associations stick be that good or bad

It’s still one of my biggest problems with the current political landscape the vast majority don’t know why they are voting for the person they are voting for they just do it generally because of family tradition or working class going red and blue collar going blue

That might of applied in the 70s and 80s but the landscape is completely different

I’ll always respect anyone to choose a party that resonates with them even if I disagree with the politics because at least they have made the time to make an informed choice instead of someone who votes similar to myself because “mum said we are a labor family”
