Yze has turned out to be a massive disappointment. No initiative, no willingness to change the team or game plan. Refuses to drop players that fail every week and rewards mediocre performance. Wants to be mates with the players instead of a coach. A flat out embarrassment. An indictment on our executive that our final 2 coaching candidates are the worst 2 coaches in the AFL by a mile
I love you LOTW never change

Yeah thought tresise has been coming along nicely no way i would drop him. I don't see anything different from the way Dimma was running the show even the game plan is the same bomb it forward and hope for the best. Skill wise we don't look any different either and only two games we have won have been by playing our old style by hunting the oppo down.
This sends the wrong message
They said weeks ago they were rotating the young blokes through being rested and the sub. It’s a long term plan that they’re sticking too. I swear posters just go off tangent without looking at the big picture

Playing the likes of experienced duo KMac and Short right now - aside from the fact their 2025 form warrants AFL selection - helps ensure that we are more competitive by a few goals each week.

Maybe they should do what the pies did and rest the oldies, we need to have them fit for the finals. I swear some posters think the young ones need a break instead of getting as much experience as possible. I mean there poor young bodies must be exhausted.

do you watch any of our games? Yze game plan is different to Hardwicks and that bomb it forward tactic is a player issue not a game plan. TT and Hopper are looking to dish it out of clearances but their team mates are just not showing up consistently.

I find it hard to listen to anyone that thinks Yze isnt a good coach. ffs we beat The blues and the undefeated GC on a ground we havent won on in years. The hawks was a blow out but every decent pundit was saying we played well just couldnt get it on the score board.... you know what that tells me? its buy in from the players.

easy to say the coach is bad when we are a bottom 4 side and in rebuild... its a cowards take

Back the coach, trust the process
Hummm ok can i borrow a 50 to put on him to be the coach of the year? I promise if he wins i'll pay it back.
On watching the game it's pretty hard i keep falling asleep not sure why. Everyone knows it's going to take some time if your happy to stick with him good onya doesn't mean others have too. It must be hard to wish to see something changing but but. 1st quarter we had nearly double inside fifties from booting it anywhere, yet if they kicked straight we would have been 8 goals down.

I don’t think the coaching is the issue at this stage but i am slowly developing concerns about the match committee. Don’t get me wrong, these issues are common across the whole AFL and it took our club a major internal review to fix them under Dimma.

Second half of this season will be huge in terms of assessing the coaching and match committee. If they mix it up and find players over this period it could be huge for our success going forward.
I agree that MC decisions on some players worry me. But is it a case of - if the MC makes the decisions I would make they are doing a good job but if they make decisions I don’t agree with they are no good.

So many opinions. Even big footy can’t agree on team selections.

After the gather round there should be the Big Footy round where each team that weekend is selected by the respective Big Footy supporters.

Maybe Tresise is going back to the vfl to play more game time and play across the HBF?
I hope they play him midfield. He has played half back since he got there. Playing midfield makes you a better footballer because you get the ball in traffic and there is a lot more pressure, which is going to do him a lot more good that going back and playing his usual position.

Tezise has a lot of good attributes, just needs to get the ball more and be cleaner and smarter with it.

Is the your first taste of AfL footy and how to manage players? Seriously

Does tend to fumble the ground ball a bit too much, but his kicking compared to last year has come a long way. He's rated elite for disposal efficiency now going at 81%.

Yes, that is the biggest transition from VFL to AFL, unless you are blessed like Lalor is. That is why playing midfield in the VFL will help him the most, help his cleanness and decision making. But you know they will never do it, they never do.

FFs …In that case it’s mind boggling we’d drop Tresize and retain Macca. I knew this would happen when we retained Macca in the off-season - he’d take 20+ games off the kids, and here we are.

If anyone can tell me how our future benefits from Macca playing and not Tresize (who has been more than capable in games he’s played) then I’m all ears.
pretty simple really Macca can run his guts out for 80 minutes a game, the other fella about 35. having 7 or 8 in the side that lack a solid fitness base is partly the reason we get smashed late in games/quarters. its a proven fact that young players without tanks also lack consistency of effort and concentration. how many times have we seen macca scrap his arse off with 2nd and 3rd efforts. it's what every coach and most supporters love.

I was watching the pies freo game. Freo so many talented players and going nowhere. Dip dive into the team and they are simply two tall and run out of legs. Something I'm sort of noticing with our system even in the seconds. Have we gone in too tall in the draft? Man I hate to be a recruiter trying to do the right mix is frustrating.
Think we will balance it up this year with all mids drafted in November

Isn’t the big difference between VFL and AFL is you get less time and space playing AFL. Watching some AFL games looks like a knife fight in a phone box.

Exactly, so going back and playing midfield in the VFL, where you get less time with the ball than say half back would be beneficial for when he comes back to AFL, even back on the wing or half back.
