I don't think it is "for no real reason". He was pretty shit at GC, and has done nothing when playing for us to inspire confidence, unless you somehow count running jogging around at a speed and intensity that would make Finlayson look like Butters.

That was the biggest issue, they must have scored 5 goals from our short kicks not hitting a clear target. Awful that was the game.

We have too many who can’t kick the 45degree kick.. and yet those who can’t make it continually try it.. and it cost us dearly last night

Whilst the move of Bergman was a win in one sense, it left us one tall short in the backline which the crows effectively exploited multiple times. Sav should have played on Thilthorpe, Aliir is not a one on one defender.

Sinn played well and he is getting better with more game time. Vis lacks experience but gives a contest every time and gives away less frees than Sweet. He is also good when the ball hits the ground.

Butters’ pointless trip in the first quarter didn’t help either.
Aliir’s turnover kick across the centre in third and then not getting back onto Thilthorpe, leaving him to Burton.
The Butters’ kick to Finlayson who ran under the ball in the third quarter.
Jones’ countless defensive errors.
Missed goals (JHF x2, Finlayson x2, Rozee, Georgiades x2, Lord).

Other teams execute this shot well regularly. I think it's just an extension of our overall poor conversion which is an extension of our overall mental fragility as a club.

We should as a starting point be practicing goalkicking way more than any other club as it's the area that we stand to gain the most out of but unfortunately Training Services pretty well runs the football department as far as I can tell.

Speaking of which, has anyone else noticed the increasing prominence of the head of Training Services? Not only does he sit right next to Hinkley but he now literally has the magnet board in his hands the entire time. This is what losing the plot looks like.
