You are more cooked than Boak mate you didn't even watch it.Your cooked mate it's like arguing with a 5 year old.
What's wrong mate? I said I did watch it and even still I'd of played boak over mcentee for the simple fact he would of had some form of impact on the game. You hate boak obviously.. and what else is up maybe your mum didn't cook you breakfast this morning so your in an even worse mood after the loss....?You are more cooked than Boak mate you didn't even watch it.

Well I'm in a ropeable mood. And one of the main reasons is I'm sick of Port supporters accepting this shit year after year. We expect the players to fight hard for a win & yet its hard to find a Port supporter who has any fight in them. The majority just accept this mediocrity.
I said neither should've played I'm baffled Lorenz was dropped & no I don't expect a dead person to make me breakfast. What's wrong mate? Also their bizarre second goal that Fogarty missed and butters gave away a free? Cost usFor me the game was lost by the shocking kick in by Rozee that cost a goal but we also had no match for Thilthorpe. For me he was BOG. Also as expected the selection of McEntee was a masterstroke
I wouldn’t even say it was entirely due to our horrible gameplan. It’s more to do with how the Crows beat us every time. They flood our defence and counter attack, resulting in us having zero space up forward for leading marks. They have done it for multiple years now and we have no answer for it.I decided to look at some stats comparing this week's game to last week against the dogs.
Last week:
-7 for contested ball (taking free kicks and contested marks out of the equation)
-14 clearances
-26 inside 50
+16 clangers
-90 on the scoreboard.
This week:
+22 contested ball (taking out contested marks and free kicks)
+27 clearances
+21 inside 50
+6 clangers
-5 on the scoreboard.
Port essentially dominated last night as much as the dogs dominated Port last week. But because of Ports fücking useless and inefficient gameplan, it's all for nought.
The only silver linings I'm finding is that they're moving the magnets around and finding out that a few players look like they'll have a future in their new roles. Ie Rozee to half back, Moraes on the wing, Bergman in the guts and Visentini in the ruck.
The biggest concern though was in the final quarter they reverted to type bombing it in long, after all season legitimately looking for a target in the forward 50 on the lead. Training that Hinkley ball out of them when the pressure is on is going to be a herculean task for Carr straight out of the gate.
Crows had low inside 50’s, but their keys just kick straight and make the most of it.

Add on to that how incredibly weak our forward line is. We just have no one who can win a contest up there to stop it just coming straight out again. As much as some don’t like them, you take out Lord, McEntee, Mead and add in Luko, Marshall and Rioli, we win that game by a comfortable margin. We are desperately missing quality key forwards who can kick straight.

Would you not have played Lorenz or Jackson instead of both?I did watch the game and regardless of turnovers etc I still would have played Boak instead of Jed. Stats straight from stat sheet. You obviously haven't looked to back up your sour opinion.
Someone mentioned earlier Josh “stormed off” a bit earlier from the 3/4 time huddle. Anything juicy chewy? Anything to distract us from this dross of a season.I decided to look at some stats comparing this week's game to last week against the dogs.

I think a big reason is the complete lack of smarts by our forwards. It’s a 2 way street, they also need to offer a good lead. Mitch is the only one who kind of does, but as the game goes on and he gasses out like normal, even he drops off doing it. You watch the 3 crows forwards constantly presenting, ours stand on the spot and want it bombed on their head. There was plenty of space all game for the forwards to lead into and mark. The Crows' flood wasn't the reason Port lost - it was Port's tendency to panic and revert to type instead of patiently working things through and maintaining composure.
One thing I've noticed this year is that their forward pressure is considerably less than past seasons. They are almost standoffish to their opponents when the ball is deep in the forward 50, allowing an easy rebound. I don't understand what the logic is behind it but on the face of it, it hasn't made sense to me and I've noticed it at every game this season which I've attended.

Agree with all this 100%. I just wish occasionally I could have a conversation with Port supporter friends who actually vocalise their displeasure at the current situation particularly in relation to the role Ken & Koch have played. Thankfully I have this forum.Maybe the Facebook happy clappers are happy accepting it but lack of emotion doesn’t mean Port supporters accept them.
But, the club through its own poor decision making and lack of of leadership, development and list management is the reason we’re here. The lack of emotion is due to the club and the complete disappointment of what they have become. We’ve lost fight for the club because they have just constantly been a disappointment for a decade and repeated the same mistakes over and over.
If the club isn’t willing to make changes and make tough decisions within reasonable timeframes, why should we care? They don’t deserve it anymore until they prove to us they deserve our commitment and input. As the club is now and how it’s ran, they simply don’t deserve our emotional or financial investment.
It’s a sad state of affairs but only the club is responsible for this mess.
If he comes back & doesn't compete well as a forward after a few games it has to be the obvious move. Whatever position forces him to be more competitive as he has a good skill set that we cant afford to waste. Move Rat forward again as the gorilla forward until an alternative emerges.Luko needs to play off half back.
Just hasnt been important enuf for our coaching & recruiting team. Imo its the first position you get right then build from there. Its cost us big time. And the club moans about lacking tall defenders at the Agm even though they prioritised every other position on the field with early draft picks throughout Kens regime. We haven't had a match for a tall forward for 13 years
