Also the tigers made more top 10 picks in 1 year then we made in 5

That tends to speed things up

Being willing to move a bunch of good senior players that weren't going to be part of their next premiership side is what made that happen. Meanwhile, we tend to give our players who fit that mould six-year contracts instead.

Lav was one of our better players no way he gets dropped
And Davey alomst a lock to come in given its dreamtime - even in the SUB role
Lav was in our bottom 5. You've got to be joking.

We don’t have a bunch of good senior players to trade them all away for draft picks unfortunately.

Tigers losing bolten and rioli is our equivalent of losing Merrett and Langford.

Richmond's rebuild is coming from a base of success, so was always going to be quicker than ours. This game will highlight that, Tigers by 46.
Seems a few people have forgotten this point

Tom Lynch in attack, Taranto * Hopper leading the young midfield and Vlaustin and Broad in defence is a solid enough base

trying to build via a free agency model vs a draft one isn’t inherently bad. If you have actual stars on the team keeping them and gap filling around makes a good amount of sense

It definitely isn’t, they are both cream players. Merrett is a genuine gun week in week out. Bolton ain’t going to rock up and give it his all in a bottom 4 side, as proven last year.
My point is, that we don’t get top picks unless we trade the guys we actually don’t want to lose. Parish, Shiel, McGrath isn’t getting us anything.

Richmond were happy for Bolton to go, the whole club was over him. Richmond weren’t shattered to lose rioli either, knowing gc were going to over pay and rioli wanted out aswell.
If any of our players actually want to go, then by all means go find a trade for them.

Those guys were multiple premiership players and there’s a certain level of respect that comes with that which values them higher then their production

Not really, they got overpaid because both were in contract and the clubs chasing them wanted them badly. Richmond held the whip hand which allowed them to get what they wanted. Both would’ve gone for way less if they were ooc

Can't afford to play both prior and laverde In the backline. It's either 1 or the other.
At this stage I'm taking laverde..

Our forward line needs a shake up. . we need to change the look at but.

And our mids need a rocket aswell.

I would not mind seeing this side this Friday.

McGrath ( and he plays on there best small forward) unlike he did against the dogs for some unknown reason.

Not sure what message it sends to the group if we’re bringing in Davey due to Indigenous round, as some have suggested. I do think he should come in due to the terrible performance last night and would much prefer him over Menzie

I think some forget that Gresh is an Indigenous lad - he’ll come straight back in, they won’t play Davey
