To rejuvenate our list, many here and in the media, seem to think we should move on a combination of:

  • Curnow or McKay
  • Walsh
  • TDK (FA)

Which I could agree with, as long as we are strategic and we get maximum value.

Trading them would have to unlock players in areas of need, that have already shown they belong in the AFL. Not draft picks in the worst, most compromised draft in a long time.

To match the top 4 sides, not many would argue we need class in the following areas:

  • HB distributors/accumulators
  • Speedy midfielders, kickers with high IQ
  • X-Factor small forwards

We have to nail some big high turnover trade periods. To turn this around quickly and make it worth trading out high end contracted talent.

As our next couple of drafts are already determined.

100% agreed on all points!

I have a lot of faith in GW, when you look at how he turned around the pies list and snagged the flag a year later. The

bloke is a genius and could very easily have similar results with us. By losing TDK and trading Charlie(who is my personal

preference over Harry). Also Walsh, to cats makes sense. Very exciting what G.W. could do from there. By losing those 3,

we could potentially add 4 quality players. A quality, speedy small forward, (Darcy Jones would be ideal of course). A mid

with some speed and agility, (with Jagga next year this is probably not as important as our other needs).

A rebounding defender with leg speed and elite kicking, (Lachie Ash would be incredible, but unrealistic). Probably our

biggest area of need is a quality medium sized forward, (Kemp may yet come on and fill this need). A Membrey type

would be ideal.

In GW, I trust.

Actually just vomited. If this is true 3 years for a moderate upgrade on Pitto is disgusting, terrible list management.
Think this might be a bit of an over-reaction.

O'Brien is an AFL above average ruck.

Pitt is probably average.

3 years on a third of the TDK salary is a fine stop gap

Wouldn’t mind seeing HOK given L.Young spot over the next few weeks in the seniors, to play as a ruck/forward.

Gives us a look at him, incase TDK and/or we trade McKay.

Yes on the money, we need to trial OKeefe, and Wilson and Moir, and this new MSD guy Asap, critical to assessing ‘what we have vs. what we need’

… cos it’s getting late… trade moves this off season to determine holding our whole (years of rebuild ) current contention together

Does anyone feel as though one of the reasons the club would consider trading Harry is that his concussions are beginning to pile up? I wish him nothing but the best and hope he has a long and successful career whichever club he represents, but based on other players with a similar history he could be one or two more bad knocks away from his career being in jeopardy

Since when is the club considering trading Harry?

Hypothetically, If we traded Harry to the Swans would we consider 2 draft picks or 2 players or a combo?
Players such as Angus Sheldrick or Robbie Fox or Logan McDonald or Blake Leidler
Logan would replace Harry in the forward line
Angus would be another young Mid or Sam Wicks as a small forward.
Robbie versatile, plays forward or defense, is a strong contested mark.
Blake is a strong 1 on 1 defender with speed.

What other teams would be interested in Harry?

For a player like McKay I’m not touching any of these players. Unless they are chucked in as steak knives coz that’s all they are. None would decrease his value in a trade deal with Sydney.

Logan McDonald was looking like the next big thing as a KPF a couple of years ago, he's flat -lined a bit with injury since. If the Swans are moving him on I'd put the hand up. Preference for me is using Harry in a system that isn't a shambles, rather than trade him.

Logan McDonald does nothing for me, but I understand the appeal of a young, highly rated key forward.

Sheldrick more of what we have, inside contested type. No thanks.

Robbie Fox? Fine player but if you're making a bold move and trading Harry you'd want players of a higher calibre than Robbie.

Sam Wicks is so bad as a small forward he's currently playing as a half back, and not one that has particularly impressed me.

You trade Harry to Sydney, you'd want one very good player back (Gulden/Blakey quality, but not happening) or two players who are B+ish but fill areas of need, like Roberts or Campbell.
