Hypothetically, If we traded Harry to the Swans would we consider 2 draft picks or 2 players or a combo?
Players such as Angus Sheldrick or Robbie Fox or Logan McDonald or Blake Leidler
Logan would replace Harry in the forward line
Angus would be another young Mid or Sam Wicks as a small forward.
Robbie versatile, plays forward or defense, is a strong contested mark.
Blake is a strong 1 on 1 defender with speed.

What other teams would be interested in Harry?
Unless there's a particular Sydney player we're after, Sydney have early picks so you probably want those from them and on-trade for players from elsewhere. If we were trading to a higher ranked team like Geelong, or one which already let their picks go, then you want players back direct.

Gonna be some upset people on here if we do trade a key forward and TDK walks. So many thumbs downs going on in here
Unless another team makes a offer too good to refuse it won't happen this year our key forwards are not the problem, it is delivery & lack of quality small & medium forwards.

In a draft that is considered average, don't see it happening & Brisbane & Geelong and Collingwood are the most attractive clubs to move to, don't see any of them having early picks.

People still believe that we can win a flag with this group...

It's pretty obvious to me they haven't got what it takes. Need to rebuild now while they still have value.

We aren't 2-3 "good players" away from flag contention... we're miles off it.

Wright knows this is a cut throat business and tough calls will be made.

The reality is, we have these "stars" going out there representing the club and turning in meek performance after meek performance season after season. Something's gotta change.

Adding Bergman and say Liam Ryan is going to do sfa to move the needle especially when we lose TDK and have Pitto as main ruck next year...

Guys like Gov, Saad, Haynes, Doc, Williams, Pitto, Acres, Fantasia, Hewett... all turning 30+ next year and fair to say we've seen the best of them... they aren't going to improve... yet there will still be a significant reliance on most of them...

Newman will be a big unknown having not played for so long come rd1 2026...

We are 4 years into Voss' tenure and we still have so many fundamental flaws in the way we play. Hard to see that changing especially when the language coming from him about his chat with Ange was all about "believing in what you're doing and sticking to it"...

Contest after contest is so taxing over the course of a game, let alone a season... is it really any wonder why we've been Jekyll and Hyde every year under Voss? Half the season we play well and win games, the other half - absolute garbage.

d50 stoppage setups are a disaster... still...

i50 kicking is so appalling that it isn't even close to AFL standard... we have been rated twice as bad as the second worse team with our i50 ke... problem is, we're also only rated 4th in terms of how easy those i50 entries are... we are missing basic i50 delivery...

18th for ke in general - twice as bad as the next worse team...

I believe that if we didn't have TDK we would have lost both Cats and Saints games and we'd be sitting 2nd last right now with Richmond and North above us half way through the bloody season!

That's actually a scary situation that we could have been faced with...

Yet I'm being told that it's next to impossible for us to finish last next year... really not sure what that's based on, we are clearly regressing at an alarming rate...

So, some fringe GWS players will address our lack of quality small and medium forwards?

Interesting...
Can tell you this much, we won't be getting any in the draft this year unless Mingara Clark gets about 10x fitter.

Marlon Neocleus would be our best bet in 2026 for a genuine gun small fwd but will be almost impossible to get with Cody that year.

Bailey as a FA would be great but unlikely as a SA boy.

So yes, while they may not sound amazing right now, id absolutely take Nathan Wardius, Phoenix Gothard or Harvey Thomas going forward. Certainly ahead of Motlop or Evans.

Ahead of Motlop and Evans is a bar so low...

I've said time and time again... I think our reasonable targets for this year's draft should be Grlj and Lindsay.

TDK compo will put us in range for Grlj.

Trading Harry could get us a shot at Lindsay + a 2026 1st.

As for Neocleus... well I still like Butler as that mercurial forward with x factor that we sorely lack... and it's not impossible... just have to strategise and finish last like I've been saying...

No doubt there will be change to the list, but basically bottoming out has had very little success for the teams that do this.

There is a mix of ways to bring in players, we need to get better in all of them, Collingwood last year brought in two good players with very little in terms of picks etc.

We already been down the path many times previously getting all the high end picks, why would this time be any different?

Absolutely still significant question marks on our coaching & list management teams, so l don't see the sole change with the playing group being the solution.

Lindsay and Grlj are every shot at going top 5 in the open pool at this stage. I very much doubt either trade would get us in range for either player alone.

Strategically coming 18th is a sure fire way of losing any talent we have left on our list. Curnow would go, Weitering too.

No professional athlete wants to tank a season.

I’m not saying we should tank but at this stage we aren’t that far off the bottom 🤷‍♂️

OUT: TDK, Walsh, McKay, Motlop, McGovern.

IN: 5 first round picks to trade, and $5 million to spend on adding list depth.
Pretty sure players choose who the club they wish to go, with most likely be a team without high end picks.

lf a club makes a offer too good to refuse no problem with that, having a fire sale as some are advocating is not going to equate to obtaining decent picks and a good deal for us.
Yes getting more high end picks is going to solve everything.

Mate, I keep saying... we are not that far off from the bottom as it is.

Losing TDK + Harry will no doubt impact the ability to win games. Without them, we've won only 2 games so far this year! We are not the team you think we are, the millionaires club dgaf out there, it's obvious.

That is where the strategy part takes place, we lose TDK through FA and get rid of a player that can give us a great return. It will short term hurt us on field for next year. But a flurry of great talent through high draft picks will see us bounce back rather quickly imo.

Trading Harry won't be for a packet of chips... We can get the Swans first pick this year, plus their 2026 1st for him. Or even * might want to bite for him... they have two 1sts this year and we know how their second half of season goes, they'll likely end up bottom 4.

Our kicking efficiency is twice as poor as the 17th ranked team... we are nowhere near it mate. Millionaires club want to crack the sads when things don't go their way, persisting with them is futile.

Don't worry, I'm sure Graham Wright sees this very clearly...

We won't be "bottoming out" that suggests many years languishing in the bottom 4.

2026 as a down year, with the flurry of highly talented kids we pick up, the war chest we'll have available come 2027 off season, we can rise backup very quickly... look at Collingwood 2021...
