I would have given him another year, but I can understand why the Spurs have fired him.
I honestly reckon its better for both parties he goes now. You cant finish 17th with the amount Spurs spend and keep your job. If he stayed and they got relegated it would be a catastrophe.

And now he goes out with a win and a trophy. It sends a message to all of Europe that if you want tournament silverware this is a guy who can do it. Sides should be lining up for his signature.

It's a lucrative job and they're being babied why wouldn't they be smiling
The whole club players included couldn't give a shit about the supporters, they play for Ken, bunch of babies.
I wonder if Carr will receive the same love.
Such a soft footy club top to bottom.

It's all down to the balance of shame to financial gain. The problem is Hinkley lacks the ability to self assess.
He doesn't need to - when we fail, others are at fault 🥴.

Was watching 9 sport, the players don't look to concerned, everything looks warm and fuzzy at training, smiles and jokes all round.

I reckon they think they are like Collingwood or something.
Why would they be concerned? They know this year is a pointless waste of time just like we do.

Getting paid $350K on average

Working in a scrutiny-free internal environment where on-field failure is cushioned by the fact they’ve still achieved their ultimate goal: Being good people

Club openly admits they can’t tell playing group they’ve failed, so they get pats on the back and warm fuzzies even in defeat

Club openly bristles at any semblance of public criticism as completely unjust, so players think they’re doing a great job regardless of the scoreboard

Players coaches and admin involved in a greyhound syndicate which makes the whole environment jovial and non-threatening

I wouldn’t just be smiling, I’d be doing cartwheels

Because the industry’s preconceived view of Port Adelaide is that we’re a contrived interloping minnow with a great unwashed fanbase that has no right to expect to seriously contend for a premiership — even though we constantly finish top-3 at the end of the minor round, something that has happened at a rate of just under every three seasons since 2001.

No, it’s real clubs like Carlton and Essendon who are right to sack coaches every two minutes in the pursuit of a goal they haven’t got remotely close to in a generation.
Port fans have been particularly on the nose since the Brisbane game last year, when they had the gall to boo poor Kenny. Even the Lions coach thought it was poor form to boo one of the greatest coaches of the modern era.

Yeah I suppose. It's just the way our players think it's okay to let the supporters down, they have an attitude like the club will shield them from any short comings, don't they have any self pride, at least in their own performance, you don't see players from other clubs act this way.
