I thought Dunstall was worse.

FFS, calling “Collingwood are a great team today because they always convert their opportunities” …

… before the player has even taken his set shot.
Dunstall was shocking. Enjoy him doing the shows but he’s ****ed to listen to on Collingwood games.

Gawn goes alright? I’d happily have him on our list.

Petracca is a pretty decent player. But not a leader. And no way justifies what he’s be getting paid.

‘Oliver” and “leader” don’t belong in the same sentence.
Gawn and Petracca are good blokes and while Petracca isn't what he was he's still good Oliver as a leader though is genuinely laughable

Miss the goal and give the ball back to Melbourne I guess. They’re well drilled these boys and it worked.
I get that but with 10 seconds remaining while he is taking the kick, Surely nothing more than mircle would have won it for the Dees from their full back kick out with 6-8 seconds remaining.

What’s the argument for Cox helping? He has been one of the worst offenders re: being outmarked by defenders
No way their defense dominates as comfortably, we become more competitive down the line and in the Ruck against Gawn and tire him accordingly. Allows DC to spend more time back if needed.
Their marking power was a standout today - which rarely happens when Cox plays.

Ir's time for the KB game to be between Melb and Ess. It's going to be weird when Neale passes that this game is a tribute to the great man but only the team he coached is represented.

The AFL need to re-fixture BF12 to be Ess v Melb and hopefully Neale is still with us in 12 months.

I don’t know how we won that game.We just looked out of sorts all day, slow and sluggish, while the Demons were hyped up the eyeballs. You could feel how desperate they were, just watching the game on tv.So it’s a credit to the team to win when they were clearly playing well below their best.

It must be hard for Collingwood teams playing against other sides who treat their games against as a grand final. It must be exhausting really,to have to be up for every game, and to face that sort of pressure every week.

And those four points we got today were absolutely priceless. They’re going to be so important come the end of the season.

Do I need to go on?
I just don’t agree at all. Cox has been front and centre for innumerable games where opposition defenders get on top aerially. His 5-7 minutes of chopping out in the ruck would have done nothing

some say Ed Langdon is still riding Naicos
Maybe it’s the 70s and 80s era in me but I can’t believe a few of our bigger boys didn’t cause him some real pain. A number of our players should have had had words in his ear making him dance at shadows.
I thought we were very poor in flying the flag in this regard.

Congratulations for those attending today's game.
You didn't have to listen the whining sniveling cry baby Luke Hodge!!
He never stops.
He questioned the high free kick Darcy got in the last quarter, then when Darcy went off with the blood rule the year 9 educated Hodge starting mumbling on live tv. There were no subtittles provided by Ch7 which was a shame.

We regressed to 2023 form today. Games either side of a bye are always a risk, and this one being an event game, doubly so.

McStay returning with 2 goals, including the clutch contested mark and goal was big.

Our better forward 50 entries won it for us, but we were far worse than last week. Part of that was Melbourne being much better than the Hawks, playing with intensity. Part of it was having the tall target to go to in McStay. It's a double edged sword, when the target is there the percentage play is to kick to them, when not there you have to find the best option instead, but that's more diffficult, especially if pressure is high as it was this week and not last. It's why I'm leaning towards not playing Cox in our best team. He provides an obvious target but it's a trap given that he rarely marks and is often out marked. We either play a good tall target in McStay or play small for mine. This is for our best side. Cox or Steene are options if we want to go with a sub optimal side for whatever reason, resting, management of Cameron etc.

Lol of all the things this scumbag puts up it’s that moment?
Nothing about what Langdon was getting away with all day?

He doesn’t mention the Petty hands in the back free in the last up the other end.

He’s such a campaigner Ralph

He can wallow in his misery whilst we take to the bye
