He's such an insufferable flog. Best culture ever at that shithole. No wonder they barely have a home base.

Not sure I can think of many people in footy who have been bigger hypocrites when it comes to their public statements.

I'll never forget the sanctimonious bullshit he sprayed in our direction after we traded Grundy to them, only to stick him in the Magoos, try to somehow reinvent him as a forward (who can't take a mark) then trade him on to the Swans.

I don't buy the criticism of our "long kick into the 50" game. When they had the chance and the time, our players routinely looked inboard, but they didn't go there if there was no target. Usually there wasn't because Melbourne players were flooding back. If there is no clear short lead, and no switch player available in the clear, then down the line it has to be.

We have patterns inside 50, but the moves players make are mostly countered, clear moments are fleeting and there is precious little space to play with. So choosing between long kicks to 20m out and a pass to someone who is covered is no choice at all.

Kicking long most of the time forces oppositions to cover this. so that occasionally, something short opens up. when they were there, our players took those opportunities. The quality of the pass by Cameron got everyone's attention, because it was such a challenging kick. There were a few others, and overall, they won the game for us.

I take issue with the notion that we played badly too. It was a tough, slippery day with an opposition right on its game. The game didn't win itself.

We should beat Melbourne by at least 8 goals later in the season.

I thought they gave their absolute best, but it just wasn't good enough. We had a poor game, in very ordinary conditions, and still won the game when it needed to be won.

Maynard, Schultz, DeGoey, Lipinski all to come back into that lineup.
I wonder when Mitchell will come back in.

Mark it down Nick Daicos will destroy them.
Naicos will come out breathing fire next time we play them!

Give us 5 howlers he committed today.
spoil leading to a easy melbourne goal , kicks straight to Gawn in the final minute to almost lose us the game , is beaten one on one by Jake Melksham who converts a goal he's not in good form at the moment unfortunately very 2024 esque performance yesterday

This. All of it.

How’s some media saying Nick Daicos’ behind from his free kick was the difference. Hoskin-Elliot was 40m out directly in front with 20 seconds to go. You don’t think he would have slotted it through rather than passing it to Bobby 60m out near the boundary?

Do these guys actually watch the footy?
Don’t think so

Game was a tough watch but happy to win ugly, bank the 4 points, and get away with a clean bill of health. The bye comes at a good time, even if I hate us having a week off, especially as we don’t get a VFL game either. It’ll seem like an eternity till round 15 against the Saints when we can look forward to another slog fest against a Lyon coached team.

We were trying to run and gun in the first quarter but were turning it over and leaving ourselves exposed so we switched to grinding out the win. No issue with how we played from me either.

If they had have gotten ahead, we would have switched modes, but they never did.

Wet days aren't really made for precision footy. The fact we can switch and win either way is testament to Fly
Plus our down the line game has been good this year. We've been hitting ground balls hard and getting it in to Elliott in space. Just got to applaud them for clunking ****ing everything. They were awesome in the air.

it doesn't matter if he's centre half-back or full-back he's been cooked in the role as a intercept marker for 18 months now and a 2021 esque switch forward then switch back could unlock the Darcy Moore magic he had in 2022/2023 its not a WHE situation where its mentality and trauma from a nasty injury making him pass off shots Moore is a legitimate injury stopping him from his best (he had a hamstring then hurt his wrist a bad combination)
Of all the dumb takes…

Be honest, are you WHE’s mum?

At the end of the day Nick kicked a goal and had an extra 15 disposals than his direct opponent whilst Melbournes best outside runner had 4 disposals for the game so I’m not too worried about Nick being tagged if this is the outcome.
Exactly. It’s bizarre the plaudits Langdon is getting for his game yesterday. He reduced his opponents impact moderately while completely negating everything else out of his own game. That’s always been regarded as a loss in the big book of taggers.

If a tagger played on Langdon and kept him to 4 shit possessions they’d be lauded. Langdon did it to himself and tagged himself out of the game 😂
